Behind the shed the gardens sweep up the slope above the house to the north. This area is a haven for wildlife with mature trees and rhododendrons. Burns to both the east and west trickle through the garden to the loch below. A paved area wraps around the back of the house passing a coal shed and there are stone steps which lead up into the wild garden. The patio by the bridge provides excellent space for outdoor dining and is adjacent to one of the burns by the stone bridge. The lochside garden The lochside garden sits to the south side of the house and stretches over 100 metres along the loch. There are grassy banks sloping down to the loch and a there is a large flat area where the boathouse sits. The boathouse is timber with a corrugated iron roof and has double doors which open out to the boat slipway down to the loch below. Surrounding the boathouse are mature pine trees and areas of shingle beach. Subject to local Council approvals and permissions the boathouse could be converted to create a fantastic entertaining space or annexe accommodation.
