From the General Manager October has arrived! After a long hot summer followed by a few days of needed rain, it has finally cooled off. The grounds crews are getting the golf course and facilities ready for everyone`s return. The Palm Creek Activities and Events teams have been working hard to bring you some exciting and fun things to do this winter. The Bistro has some exciting new food offerings and some seasonal favorites. As you read The Happenings you will see some staff changes we hope will enhance your stay this season. Home sales are booming and the new areas of the resort are filling up with new neighbors. Speaking of neighbors, Palm Creek has a new Neighborhood Watch program put together by a devoted group of residents. Information to join is available at the Guest Services counter. As you work your way home to Palm Creek, be safe, be ready to have fun and remember - Less Stress = More success! See you all soon. Guest Services Welcome Back! We hope you ve enjoyed your summer whether it was spent here with us at Palm Creek or elsewhere! The first newsletter of the season comes with lots of reminders: Christy Kochen Behrens Guest Services Manager Annuals, please be sure to stop by Guest Services to check-in with us and get a new badge. New badges are required in order to obtain an annual parking sticker at the main gate. The speed limit in the park is 10 mph. The speed limit and stop signs pertain to EVERYONE cars, golf carts and bicyclists. Please help keep our park safe. Don t forget the Work Order Station located across from Guest Services. No need to stand in line at Guest Services; just fill out your requests and drop them in the black box. Site Improvement Forms are also located there; don t forget you need a permit to do any work on the outside of your home/lot and for any electrical changes/additions. Landscaping and Maintenance Requests are on the same work order. The Landscaping team will only perform trimmings at a charge of $25 per hour. All other landscaping requests, including irrigation installation and repair, must be performed by an outside vendor. Note: these work orders are duplicate sheets; please deposit both copies in the box. Note: Landscaping work orders are on hold until golf course over-seeding is completed. As a reminder to our pet owners, retractable leashes are not allowed and dogs must be on leashes at ALL times when outside of the home/rv. Also, please do not let your dogs walk on others lots. Lastly, please clean up after your pets. You will receive a new copy of the park s rules and regulations and we encourage you to take the time to read them. Please do your part to keep the park looking beautiful by keeping yard art to a maximum of four pieces and minimizing the amount of clutter outdoors. Enjoy your time here at Palm Creek! Christy 4

Golf & Gifts HELLO AND WELCOME BACK! I hope you had a great summer. This season my responsibilities have changed to include the Palm Creek Golf and Gifts so I am your new Pro Shop Manager! As most of you know I have been the Activities Manager for the last five years, a position that I truly loved. But I believe it was time for me to expand my horizons and try something new and fresh. I have been in the retail business in the past. My husband and I owned a retail store in Oregon for 12 years, so this is an undertaking I am quite familiar with. As for the golfing aspect, I am a golfer and will be surrounded by a fantastic staff, many golf experts, to help me get through any rough spots that may come along. MARY ANN BROWN PRO SHOP MANAGER Our Men s League starts November 5th, followed by our Ladies on November 7th. We are holding our inaugural season scramble on Friday, November 2nd. Stop by the pro shop for details. Are you a frequent Palm Creek golfer? Consider purchasing our golf punch cards this season. If you purchase a 9 hole card, you ll get 10 rounds of golf for the price of nine. If you purchase an 18 hole card, you ll get 19 rounds for the price of 18! You will notice some changes in our Pro Shop, one of the biggest will be our selection of clothing and gifts. I have bought items that you will not find in the mall or at other pro shops in our area. I want our shop to be unique! We will also be carrying many crossover items for those of you who love to shop, but do not play golf, tennis or pickleball. Please come in and see what we have to offer this year. We open our doors on November 1st at 7:30am. Our daily hours are from 7:30am to 5:00pm each and every day. As for our golf course, only our Back 9 will be open starting November 1st. We anticipate opening the Front 9 on November 23rd, once we have finished over seeding those holes. I am looking forward to a fantastic new season. Golf Course Opening --Mary Ann Our first Nine-n-Dine is November 20th. Round up your friends now and join us for the afternoon. Establish bins for your paper, cardboard, cans and plastics. Break down those corrugated boxes before you put them into the trailers. Empty your recyclables into the appropriate container. Don t do it for Palm Creek. Do it for your grandkids. 21
