Thanks to all the CC members that attended and also volunteered at the WMHA Indio Rally. Super job. Special thanks to Ron and Betty for the use of the truck and trailer, decorating and the extra jobs you did. Bert, Jack, Dave, Don & Ron earned special Atta Boy awards. The Chapter Social was a success again this year. Sure hope we can keep this an annual event. It takes lots of special helpers to step up and make these things happen. Long hours but Happy Hour is worth it The Sands RV & Golf Resort in Desert Hot Springs had a good turnout of 30 rigs for a February Rally and also great weather (until the wind). Terry & Darlene along with Jim & Joyce with the many helpers did a great job. We will need someone to head up the parade float for 2016. The theme is Call of the Wild. You can sure let your mind run wild with that one. Our March 26-29 rally will be at the FMCA National rally, L.A Fair Grounds in Pomona. We will gather on Tuesday the 24 th at 1:00 PM in the holding area and then go into park as a Chapter. We have volunteered as a chapter to be Seminar Monitors. This is an easy indoor assignment. Handing out literature and collecting paperwork if needed, straighten out the chairs, etc. The Chapter will be recognized before the Sunday entertainment with front row seating for ALL CCFMCA members during this National rally for achieving its 50 th year. A slide PRESIDENTS MESSAGE program of our 50 years has been prepared for showing also. California Gold is the theme. Please call me if you can attend and volunteer. I must turn in a list of participants. 909 985-8043 or ascout53@msn.com. cl# 909-767-1896 50 th anniversary of CCFMCA at Golden Village Palms, Hemet. May 14-17, 2015. Plans are complete with activities, entertainment and gala catered 50 th anniversary dinner. A committee was formed and invitations have been sent to Past Presidents, old timers and Official Dignitaries of FMCA and WMHA. I am looking for a great turn out of chapter members to come and celebrate this great accomplishment of our motorhome chapter, the first and oldest in the west. I was wrong with my listing Randy Rolf as Bone Head winner (thanked me for the recognition) at the last rally. It was actually George Overman as shown in the picture. Minor mistake, right? Gene Zour is the new recipient (Bone-Head) for dropping a tray of our favorite Deviled eggs. Still need some Trail Bosses for September in Valencia and November in Chula Vista rallies. This is a great experience and extra benefit to the chapter. You can put your slant on the rally and there is always lots of help available from the attendees. The search for new locations is ongoing. Parking fees and clubhouse availability are some of the considerations along with location and accessibility. Want to volunteer to be the Chapter Wagonmaster? Feel free to call me with suggestions; my email and phone are always open. Ron Vinatieri Jan/Feb 2015 CCFMCA Page 1

Sunday was the ending of the very enjoyable California Chapter Rally in Desert Hot Springs and also the end of 57 years of marriage for Carole & Sonny and the start of 58! How many of you can beat that??? We re quite Proud! Deadline for the next Spot-Lite April 15,2015 SAFETY OFFICERS WORDS During the past cold weather period, I hope that those of you who traveled to or dwell in places with freezing temperatures thought to protect your fresh water system. Most times, an extension cord with a low wattage bulb placed in water compartment will prevent freezing. I know of two very serious accidents which occurred because the steps were not extended. When exiting, please be sure the steps are extended before stepping out. Don't be lulled because your rig doesn't leak or use oil. Before heading out on a journey check oil level in the engine and transmission, radiator water, steering and brake fluid levels. Tires have a tendency to lose air over time and periods on non-use. It's good practice to make sure they are all up to the desired inflation prior to departure. Periodic check of battery fluid level is good to do at a set schedule. Establish an interval you can hold to. One last thing. 9 volt batteries which are used in many small devises. They can cause fires if their terminals are bridged by keys or other metal. Keep spare ones in the packaging they were purchased in and not loose in your pocket or tool box. SAFE TRAVELS, RICK RICORDATI CCFMCA PAINTING CREW AT WMHA INDIO 2015 Jan/Feb 2015 CCFMCA Page 2
