We would like to extend to each and every one of you an open invitation to attend our Central States Promenade 2015. All the fun and festivities will start on Thursday, April 30, 2015 and will be held at the Wyndham Garden Hotel, 2101 S. Meridian Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73108. Their phone number is 1-405-685-4000. The room rate is $94.00 per night plus tax. We have reserved 125 rooms for this event so make your reservations early as all rooms not reserved by April 15, 2015 will be returned to the hotel for their normal bookings. Be sure to mention that you are with the 40&8 Central States Promenade. There are handicap accessible rooms available so if you fit into this category, please ask early because these are on a first come, first served basis. Make all your room reservations directly with the hotel reservations numbers, or you can mail in the attached room reservation form. Pets are allowed with $75 pet fee. Individual registrations for this event will still be $75.00 per person and registration kit includes our Friday evening B-B-Q meal, our Saturday evening banquet, your Central States Promenade 2015 Pin, your Souvenir Program Book, and of course, the Grande du Oklahoma s own Hospitality Room. Please fill out the registration form completely when returning your reservations. Organized group activities on Thursday and Friday will include a golf tournament and tours. The Golf tournament will be held on 1 May at 9:00 am. The cost will be $50.00 which including golf carts. Organizers will have some neat prizes. We have organized a tour of the JD McCarty Center for Children With Developmental Disabilities (founded by Grande du OK in 1946) for Friday afternoon. Oklahoma s Merci Boxcar is located at the JD McCarty Center. Speaking of Merci Boxcars, the Oklahoma History Center will have an exhibit of memorabilia from Oklahoma s Merci Boxcar during CSP 2015. It should be a very interesting exhibit! We are planning other tours. Please check our website at www.centralstates2015.org for updates and additional information.
For those of you who have never been to the Oklahoma City area and want to strike out on your own, we will have maps of the city for your use, along with flyers and pamphlets that describe local attractions. The Bricktown Area and Canal in Oklahoma City are popular tourist destinations. Several casinos are within a short drive from the hotel. We have great shopping too. So plan to arrive here early and check out the OKC area. Naturally, for those of you who like to stay close to home, our hospitality rooms will be open for your pleasure at the following times: Thursday 3:00 pm to midnight, Friday 2 pm to 5 pm and will open after the BBQ until midnight, Saturday after the Promenade 3:00 P.M to 5:00 P.M. and will open after the Banquet until midnight. For those of you who intend to fly into Oklahoma City Airport, the hotel is less than 5 minutes from the airport and they have an airport shuttle bus to pick you up. Just give the hotel a call when you arrive. The BBQ will take place on Friday 1 May at the Wyndham Garden Hotel. The menu will consist of BBQ beef brisket, baked beans, coleslaw, dinner rolls, and hot assorted cobbler desserts. The Men s Luncheon and the Women s Luncheon on Saturday will each cost $20.00. We hope you will attend. The banquet meal will be a Fresh Green Salad, choice of New York Strip steak or Lemon Pepper chicken, Baked Potato, and dessert.
