The Women's International League for Peace and Freedom St. Louis Branch records addenda were donated by Yvonne Logan on October 29, 1992. Logan is a former president of the St. Louis branch of the WILPF. The International Women's League for Peace and Freedom was founded in 1915 with Jane Addams as its first president. Its purpose from the beginning has been to work for the achievement, by peaceful means, of the political, economic, social and psychological conditions throughout the world which can assure peace and freedom. SCOPE AND CONTENT The Women's International League for Peace and Freedom Records Addenda includes meeting reports, correspondence, monthly bulletins and treasure's reports of the St. Louis branch of WILPF. Also, included are publications of the United States and international branches of WILPF. Correspondence, meeting minutes, charter and by-laws, and financial information detail the workings of the World Community Center of St. Louis. Finally, information concerning China, Hiroshima-Nagasaki, SALT II Conference, and Rethinking National Security Conference highlight the projects of WILPF St. Louis branch. Together they chronicle the interests of the WILPF St. Louis branch from 1953-1997. This collection is divided into nine series: (1) Administration, (2) Publications, (3) Partnerships, (4) World Community Center of St. Louis, (5) China Conference, (6) Hiroshima-Nagasaki Observance, (7) SALT II Conference, (8) Rethinking National Security Conference (7) Photographs. SERIES DESCRIPTION SERIES 1 ' ADMINISTRATION This series includes the annual meeting reports, board meeting agenda, correspondence, and treasurer's reports of the WILPF St. Louis branch. Arranged chronologically. SERIES 2 ' PUBLICATIONS This series includes the monthly bulletin of the WILPF St. Louis branch from 1965-1997 (also includes legislative bulletins), the International Peace Update from 1995, Midwest Peace and Freedom from 1984-1995, pax et libertas from 1991-1994, Peace and Freedom from 1973-1996, Program and Legislative Action from 1992-1993, Legislative Bulletin from

1975-1984, and Action Alert from 1976-1992. Also included are WILPF flyers, invitations, pamphlets, brochures, and newspaper clippings. Topics include disarmament, chemical weapons and genocide. Arranged chronologically. SERIES 3 ' PARTNERSHIPS This series includes Adequate Housing for Missourians meeting minutes and correspondence, St. Louis Peace Camp committee and activities information, Koinonia Partners correspondence and newsletters, and the Triangle Project/Twin Cities Peace Project correspondence, publications, and scrapbook. Arranged chronologically. SERIES 4 ' WORLD COMMUNITY CENTER OF ST. LOUIS This series includes World Community Center charter and by-laws, board meeting minutes, financial information, correspondence, and publications. Arranged chronologically. SERIES 6 ' HIROSHIMA-NAGASAKI OBSERVANCE This series includes planning notes, correspondence, and publications concerning the Hiroshima-Nagasaki anniversaries organized by the WILPF St. Louis branch. The anniversaries include the 22nd and the 32nd-53rd. Arranged chronologically.
