breath of fresh air. Fall means cool, crisp days filled with sunshine, an array of colors on the trees, and trips to the farm for pumpkins, produce and family-fun. Rain or shine, fall weather here is usually still warm enough to get outside and enjoy the great outdoors, the fresh air and the abundant beauty of the Pacific Northwest. At the end of the day, pitch your tent in one of the beautiful campgrounds throughout the county, on a fluffy pillow in one of our comfortable hotels, inns or in the home-away-from-home setting of one of our cozy bed and breakfasts. Whatever you choose to do, we hope you enjoy your stay in Snohomish County! Farm Fresh: Farmers Markets & Farm Days Nearly every community in Snohomish County has a farmers market visit one near you to stock up on fresh fruit and produce, colorful flowers, deliciously prepared food and artisan goods. Most of the markets run until late September or early October. As you can see from the abundance of farmers markets in our area, Snohomish County is rich in agricultural resources. Throughout the fall, many of the farms open their doors to visitors, and host fun autumn-themed events. Pick a pumpkin, enjoy a hayride or get lost in a corn maze! And follow it all up with a hot apple cider and a delicious homemade treat. Don t miss the Snohomish Valley Festival of Pumpkins, from September 26th to October 31st. This festival is an association of seven family-owned pumpkin farms who work together to promote family-fun in the Snohomish Valley. Enjoy fresh country air, wide-open spaces, children's activities, food, pumpkin patches, corn mazes and more! Also, be sure to check out the Sky Valley Farm Festival in Monroe on October 3rd. Here you can tour several working farms, take a wagon ride through a field, enjoy cooking demonstrations, horse rides, corn maze, pumpkins and more! Tours are great and all, but sometimes they re inconvenient. You have to be somewhere at a certain time, meet at a certain place, and then you have to take your tour at the pace the tour guide decides upon. So why not try a tour on your own a tour where YOU decide how long to spend at each location, and where you can skip parts that are of less interest to you? Hikers will find themselves with an abundance of riches here in Snohomish County there are so many beautiful places to hike all over the county, for all hikers of all skill levels, in a variety of settings. In preparation for the impending zombie apocalypse, all participants and spectators are asked to bring "rations for the survivors" (food to benefit the Snohomish Food Bank). Tulalip s 3rd Annual Hibulb Cultural Center Film Festival September 19, 2015 This years theme is Language: Our Living Treasure." The festival includes films honoring language and heritage with strong voices of old cultures and connections to land and families; various features, documentaries, short films and animation. The 10th Annual Edmonds Art Studio Tour September 19 to September 20, 2015 The 10th Annual Edmonds Art Studio Tour is a free, self-guided, once a year opportunity to visit 25 private studios displaying the work of 42 artists in the Edmonds area. The Everett 22nd Annual COHO Salmon Derby September 19, 2015 The Everett 22nd Annual COHO Salmon Derby is the biggest fishing derby on the west coast of the continental U.S.! Sultan s Return of the Salmon Festival September 26, 2015 Sultan s Return of the Salmon Celebration in Osprey Park includes educational tours, vendors, arts, music and native culture, activities and a 5k salmon run. Mountlake Terrace s Annual Arts of the Terrace Juried Art Show September 26 to October 11, 2015 Enjoy paintings, prints, drawings, miniatures, photography and 3-dimensional works by top local and regional artists. Snohomish s 5th Annual Snoho Brewfest October 23 to October 24, 2015 21 local craft brewers will showcase 75 unique specialty brews with mouthwatering food in a safe and fun environment at Snohomish s 5th Annual Snoho Brewfest. Proceeds benefit the Snohomish Senior Center. Designated driver tickets available. Everett s Village Theatre presents Snapshots October 23 to November 15, 2015 Village Theatre presents Snapshots, a Stephen Schwartz Musical Scrapbook, featuring the music of Stephen Schwartz (the composer who brought the world Wicked!). This new musical reminisces on the heartrending story of a couple of empty nesters, and the bond that began when they were teenagers. Performance times vary.
