JUST LOOK AT ALL WE OFFER Our camp day is scheduled with age-appropriate activities from 9am 4pm Monday through Friday. Plus! We re open for before and after care from 7 9am and 4 6pm at no additional cost. That s 11 hours of care daily! And we offer campers swim lessons and in-house or traveling field trips as well as a t-shirt! SIBLING SAVINGS = For Each Additional Child in Camp, Save $100! With our sibling savings option, you save more for each additional child you send gether camp. For each additional child who attends camp, you save $10 a week! From information about each counselor s skills and abilities, learning about all the special, fun activities counselors have planned for summer, your child will feel at ease in our care from the very first day. Light refreshments will be provided. Wednesday, May 23 6 7pm Saturday, June 9 10am 12pm MAY 23 JUNE 9 Safety and Staff: A Winning Combo! Our day camps meet the highest health and safety standards of the YMCA and the NYS Health Department. Camps are inspected twice each year by the Department of Health and files are available for inspection at your county health department office. Our hand-picked staff are trained in First Aid, CPR, pool safety, heat and sun safety, age-appropriate activities, conflict resolution, rainy day play and more! Staff training includes almost 30 hours before camp begins. Our camper counselor ratios follow best practices, with ratios from 1 counselor 6 campers 1 12, and pool ratios from 1 3 (for non-swimmers) 1 8 (for deep-end swimmers). There are always two certified lifeguards on deck when we re in the pool! Camper Safety Safety comes first at the Y. That s why we ask all campers celebrate camp in ways that are respectful themselves, other campers, and our staff. To ensure the safety of all those in our care, a camper whose behavior poses a risk safety may be removed from camp. Phos and Videos To help share the fun of summer camp, YMCA staff use phographs and videos that feature children from our camps for promotional materials. Refunds We cannot refund the cost of camp for the voluntary withdrawal of a camper due illness, vacation, or other absence (temporary or permanent), or for the dismissal of a camper.
OUR PROGRAMS Building Confident Children TRAVEL CAMP Grades 3 6 High Demand Weeks 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, & 8 (Weeks 3 & 7 are Specialty Camps) Join us for an adventure-packed summer! Travel Camp provides campers with the opportunity travel two days a week fun-filled locations. Campers explore different summer activities such as amusement and water parks, state parks, aquariums, and more! We offer you the flexibility of having your child join us for one week of camp or every week. Special Trip: The week of July 22, campers travel Camp Chingachgook. Campers enjoy day camp activities on non-travel days, at the Duanesburg YMCA. Most day trips depart promptly at 9am and return the Duanesburg YMCA by 4pm. Campers are grouped according age and supervised by experienced camp staff. Campers bring a lunch (in some instances lunch may be purchased). Some trip logistics may require an early departure or late arrival. Notice of any changes the travel schedule will be provided. In the case of inclement weather, Travel Camp will visit local indoor facilities for fun and exciting indoor activities. Travel Camp fills up quickly, so please register early. DAY CAMP Entering Kindergarten through Grade 2 Weeks 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, & 8 (Weeks 3 & 7 are Specialty Camps) Let us help your child build confidence while enjoying a variety of programs and activities that encourage your child develop independence while learning new skills. Campers enjoy swimming, sports, art, and special events. Children engage in community building projects and many additional opportunities for personal growth with our focus on discovery, hands-on education, and enriched learning opportunities. SWIM TIME! Swimming will be incorporated in each camp day. Campers enjoy organized swim activities as well as recreational swim time. CAMP REGISTRATION TWO WAYS TO REGISTER: 1. ONLINE AT www.cdymca.org/camp complete your child s registration. 2. AT YOUR YMCA BRANCH, kiosks will be available for you complete your child s registration. Staff will also be available for assistance. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION / APPROVALS: Upon registration, you will receive an email from CampDoc.com requesting medical information, immunization records, emergency contacts and authorized pickups, as well as approve medical emergency, pho/ video permission, activities, and sunscreen release forms. Come dressed as your favorite superhero or local home grown hero like firefighters and policemen! PASSPORT TO SUMMER This week, we celebrate fun from around the world! We ll uncover games like Frog Friendship from Cambodia and Marbles from Vietnam! We ll round the week out representing countries from around the world at Ultimate Summer Games! WHAT TO BRING TO CAMP Camper essentials! Swimsuit & Towel A plastic bag for wet swimsuit & wel along with goggles, if your child needs them. Backpack Large, sturdy backpack with luggage tag with your child s name on it. Insulated Lunch Bag Full lunch (that does not need be refrigerated) along with snacks & drinks. Please make sure all snacks and/or lunches are PEANUT-FREE. Complete Change of Clothing Baseball hat or visor Water bottle Filled with water Sunscreen Non-aerosol only Sweatshirt It can get chilly during the day PLEASE ADD YOUR CHILD S NAME TO EVERYTHING THEY BRING TO CAMP. Also, please have your child dress appropriately for outdoor play (no dresses/skirts/dress shoes). Please send your child in SNEAKERS EVERYDAY (no flip-flops or sandals). Each camper receives a camp T-shirt. For the safety of your child, we ask that all campers wear their camp T-shirt on field trip days.
