Presidents Report I hope that this issue finds all members have enjoyed Christmas and New Year and are ready to start the year refreshed. There are a number of events planned for this year which are detailed in the "Coming Events" section. The first of course is the commemoration of the Battle of the Bismarck Sea which will be held Thursday 2nd March 2017. Details of the subsequent events will be advised in due course. Unfortunately another two of our wartime members have passed away. The surviving members of our wartime squadron are very thin on the ground. As far as the Association knows only six members are still with us. The Annual General Meeting was held 20th November 2016 and the Committee was elected unopposed. Congratulations to all those members. This still leaves us without a Secretary as our previous Secretary has moved out of the Sydney Area. Any member who wishes to take on this role please contact either the President or Vice-President. At the meeting it was resolved that the membership fees be changed to allow for five and twelve year membership to allow those of us with failing memories to pay some years in advance. The changes are as follows: Life members - no fee payable Current Serving Members $10.00 per annum Annual Ordinary - $25.00 Associate - $25.00 Country/Interstate/Overseas - $15.00 5 Year Membership Ordinary - $100.00 Associate - $100.00 Country/Interstate/Overseas - $60.00 12 Year Membership Ordinary - $250.00 Associate - $250.00 Country/Interstate/Overseas - $150.00 The final event for the year was the Squadron Christmas B-B-Q. The theme was a festive one as can be seen in the photograph on the front page. Also included was a look over a C130 J model aircraft for which we have to thank SQNLDR John Kane who organised the event. Our thanks go to the CO, WGCDR Paul Reddacliff, and the Squadron members for making the Association welcome. We look forward to another year. Hangar Humour Only a farm kid would see it this way! When you're from the farm, your perception is a little bit different... A farmer drove to a neighbor s farmhouse and knocked at the door. A boy, about 9, opened the door. "Is your dad or mom home?" said the farmer. "No, they went to town." "How about your brother, Howard? Is he here?" "No, he went with Mom and Dad." The farmer stood there for a few seconds, shifting from one foot to the other, mumbling to himself. The young boy says, "I know where all the tools are, if you want to borrow one, or I can give Dad a message." "Well," said the farmer uncomfortably. "No, I really want to talk to your Dad, about your brother Howard getting my daughter Suzy pregnant". The boy thought for a moment, then said, "You'll have to talk to my Dad about that. I know he charges $200 for the bull and $50 for the pig, but I have no idea how much he charges for Howard Christmas B-B-Q The following are pictures taken by our resident photographer Alan Campbell.
