THE MOMENT is finally here! Welcome to the 2018 UEC European Track Cycling Championships at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome. One of Glasgow s most revered sporting venues and a 2014 Commonwealth Games host venue, the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome, Emirates Arena, will come alive with elite sporting competition once more when it stages the Track Cycling. This world-class venue will give spectators a fascinating view of the action as riders reach speeds of over 40mph when they battle it out for the crown of European champion. 2
Local Attractions 3 There are a number of local attractions within close proximity to the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome, including Tollcross International Swimming Centre, host of the Swimming competition and Glasgow Green which is hosting GO LIVE! at the Green. 4 Before You Leave Home Be prepared To enter the venue, you will pass through security screening, which will include a bag search and pat down. Items such as bags in excess of 25 litres, commercial photography equipment, noise-making instruments, glass containers, bulk food, balls, inflatable items and alcoholic beverages are not allowed in any of our venues. There will also be some restrictions on items such as flags and poles, which can t be over 1mx2m, and large umbrellas. A full list of prohibited and restricted items is available at glasgow2018.com/ sirchrishoyvelodrome Make sure you check the full list before you arrive on venue. Plan your journey Keep up to date with travel information at getreadyglasgow.com Avoid bags For faster access to all venues, don t bring bags. If it is essential, bags should be no more than 25 litres in size and limited to one per person. Bags will be searched upon entry. Remember, there are no cloakrooms or storage facilities available at the venue. Don t forget your tickets Remember to keep your tickets with you at all times. Make sure your mobile phone is fully charged to allow you to show your e-tickets. Should you have any issues with your tickets before the event contact your point of sale. No smoking Smoking is not permitted at Glasgow 2018 venues. Arrive early Entry gates will open 60 minutes before competition starts. Once you enter the venue you cannot leave and re-enter.

Support available includes: Event and venue information Language assistance where available Travel information Lost and found items Welfare point for lost and found persons Distribution of young visitor wristbands Audio commentary is available, subject to availability. To book call 0141 276 2018 in advance and collect on the day from the Information point Young visitor wristbands We will be handing out young visitor wristbands for your little ones to wear in case they wander off during the excitement of the day! For more information ask a member of staff or visit the information point. Lost and found items All found items can be collected from the information point on competition days. Following completion of activities, any unclaimed items will be transferred to Police Scotland. Contact Police Scotland on 101 for further information. Food and drink Payment at food and drink kiosks can be made by cash and card. Limited alcoholic beverages are available for purchase. Alcohol will be sold and must be consumed inside authorised areas only You must be 18 years of age or older, with valid ID, to purchase, handle or consume alcoholic beverages All alcohol sales will cease at a specific time listen out for announcements 5
Merchandise Take home your own piece of the Championships! Official Glasgow 2018 merchandise is available from the outlet located outside of the venue on competition days. Check out our George Square megastore which operates from 18 June 17 August. First aid Located in the spectator concourse. Mobile first aiders are available. Ask a member of staff for support. Baby changing Located inside the venue in the spectator concourse. Toilets Located inside the venue on the spectator concourse. ATMs There are no ATMs available at Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome. All food, drink and merchandise units accept cash and card payment. The nearest ATM is at Celtic Park. Accessible services Need support at the venue? Our accessibility team will be offering a pushing/ chaperone service from accessible parking to your assigned seat. Look out for the pink access team and access point signage for support. Accessible toilets are located inside the venue on the spectator concourse. A lift is located left of the main entrance. Should you require support please ask a member of staff. Travel Information Scotland has an excellent transport system and the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome is well served by trains and buses. In order to experience a positive journey we encourage you to follow the travel advice as shown. Train Dalmarnock station is well served by trains from Glasgow Central Station. Bus Service number: 18 and 263 to Dalmarnock Road, 64 to London Road and 2, 61, 240, 255 to Gallowgate near the rear of Parkhead Stadium. Accessible parking Spectators with accessible tickets will be contacted in the coming weeks regarding travel needs and requirements on venue. Walking route Up to a 8 minute walk to Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome from Dalmarnock Station. See map for details. Spectator parking There is no on venue spectator parking available.
