There are a host of walking and wildlife-watching opportunities - both on and off the water - and every facility you could need. 2014 was a big year for us, with the comprehensive refurbishment of the Waveney Inn and the addition of 7 hotel rooms - making it possible to enjoy our luxury accommodation for just a night or two whilst savouring the delights of our delicious locally sourced, home cooked food. , RELAX & EXPLORE Waveney River Centre is the perfect base for exploring the Broads unique and beautiful environment. There are numerous walking routes to enjoy, including many dog friendly ones. Our top tip is to take a trip on our ferry across the river to Suffolk and walk part of the Angles Way to Oulton Broad - or to the picturesque market town of Beccles. Get closer to nature If you enjoy fishing, our riverside location is the ideal spot for catching pike, roach and bream*. Cycle hire is also available, or you can bring your own bikes. Our helpful staff will show you the best, scenic routes to explore. * Environment Agency license required. Closed season 15 March - 15 June. Also across the river is Suffolk Wildlife Trust s stunning Carlton Marshes nature reserve. Effectively the Broads in miniature - with grazing marshes, fen meadow and spring-fed dykes - it s a nature paradise, not to be missed. Have you ever seen a church tower like this one? Our local church has a thatched roof and a very unusual wedding cake tower - apparently inspired by the Ziggerat temples of Mesopotamia (Iraq). In the 1930s, local wherrymen and yacht skippers were fond of telling holiday makers that the church tower was in fact telescopic, wound up at the beginning of each sailing season and brought down again to mark the onset of winter! GLAMPING, CAMPING & TOURING With fantastic south facing views across the marina, river and marshes, our family oriented touring and camping site, with 5 star facilities, is the idyllic location for your holiday or weekend away. We can accommodate up to 14 touring caravans or motor homes, and 35 tents on the park. All our pitches are on level ground with fantastic views across the marina. HOLIDAY INFORMATION Call us on 01502 677 343 or visit us at: www.waveneyrivercentre.co.uk To book your holiday All we ask is that you make an initial payment of 25% of your holiday cost, with the balance to be received by us no later than 56 days before the holiday start date. Once your booking is confirmed you will be required to adhere to our terms and conditions (please see website or ask us to post a copy). Alternatively you can spread the cost of your holiday using our simple monthly payment plan. See page 36. Arrival and Departure You can arrive for your property from 4pm. If you arrive early you are welcome to visit the leisure centre or the Waveney Inn. Your property should be vacated by 9.30am on the last day of your holiday. Security Deposit A security deposit of 100 per property ( 200 for Burgh Staithe) will be refunded by the company at the end of your holiday after deducting any costs for breakages, damage etc. If the cost of making good any breakages or other damage is greater than the security deposit, you will be required to pay the excess to the company. Pets A maximum of 2 well behaved dogs are welcome in some of our lodges, please see pages 22-23 for details. There is a charge of 35 per pet. Smoking We do not allow smoking in any of our properties. Medical Equipment Nebulisers and medical equipment remain the responsibility of the customer at all times. Waveney River Centre takes no responsibility for the use of medical equipment in the event of loss of power. Swimming Use of the swimming pool is included in the cost of your holiday. Start days All of our properties are available for short breaks and weeks starting Mondays and Fridays during the winter. Between Easter and October, some of our properties start on a Saturday for weekly holidays. Please see individual lodge price tables for details. So far our customers have funded the replacement of an all-weather path and a new dyke-dipping platform. Dyke dipping is an integral part of Carlton Marshses education experience for school groups of all ages - right up to A level - as well as their holiday activity programme. A voluntary donation of 1 will be added to your booking, to support this local project.
