PARK & LAKE REMINDERS Visit AuburnBayRA.ca for a complete list of Rules and Regulations. GENERAL: All Members (ages 12+) must bring their membership card each time they wish to access the park, lake, or Auburn House facility - not just one card per family. No child under 12 is permitted in the park without adult supervision. No dogs or animals of any type, glass, smoking, or alcohol permitted. Bicycles, scooters, rollerblades, skateboards, etc. are not allowed in the park. Jumping or diving from any of the ABRA's boats or docks is prohibited. Open fires are not permitted. Charcoal briquettes only may be used in the barbeques. Members are requested to refrain from using foul language in the park and rambunctious/unsafe behaviour will not be tolerated. GUESTS: Members will assume full responsibility for their guests' actions at all times and members must be present at all times while their guests are using the facility/park. Adult members are permitted up to 5 guests per household. Members' children (12-16), entering the park without an adult, are permitted up to 2 guests per household (with signed parental consent). All guests must be signed in with the Customer Service Representative before entering the facility/park. For more than 5 guests, a Guest List form must be completed and returned to the Auburn House Administrative Office at least 48 hours prior to your event for approval. Guest Lists are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Auburn House accepts a maximum of 5 Guest Lists per day (not including Picnic Shelter rentals). Members may submit up to 2 Guest Lists per household per summer season (June 1 - Sept. 30) at no charge. Each additional Guest List costs $30.00+GST (not including Picnic Shelter rentals). Members are permitted to submit 1 Guest List per household per day. ABRA has the right to decline any large group. Guest List forms are available from the Administration Office and on AuburnBayRA.ca The maximum number of guests is 25. Note - infants who are mobile must be counted as guests. ABRA PROGRAM GUIDE WINTER 2018-19 04

ICE SAFETY IF YOU HEAR A CRACK: Lay down on the ice. Crawl or roll back to land. Teach children to call for help loud and clear if they are in trouble. Kids: check with a responsible adult before heading onto or near ice. CHECK OUT THE ICE: Check that the ice is smooth and at least 10 cm (4 inches) thick. Check with local authorities for more information on ice thickness. The ABRA posts our lake's ice thickness on AuburnBayRA.ca Understand that ice is often unpredictable. In spring weather, thick ice is not necessarily safe. During spring melt, impurities in the ice melt very quickly, creating weak spots. Ice seldom freezes or thaws at an equal rate. If in doubt, don't go out! ON THE ICE: Obey all signs posted on or near ice. Ensure that children only play on or near ice while a responsible adult supervises. Use the buddy system - never walk on ice alone. SELF-RESCUE: Float on your stomach, facing the shore. Reach forward onto the ice - do not push down on it. Kick your legs to slowly push your torso onto the ice. Crawl or roll away from the hole. Get medical help immediately. If you can't climb onto the ice, float in the water and call for help loud and clear. HELPING OTHERS: 05 ABRA PROGRAM GUIDE WINTER 2018-19 Phone 911. Call out the self-rescue steps. Push or throw something (long stick, rope, floating aid) that the victim can use to get out of the water or float on.
