The Organisation Urban Splash was Founded in 1993 by our Chairman Tom Bloxham MBE and creative director Jonathan Falkingham MBE; we are based in Manchester with regional bases in Liverpool, Leeds, Bristol, Sheffield and Plymouth. In the past two-decades, we ve worked with world-class architects and designers to restore old buildings and create new, sustainable communities. We have invested a billion pounds creating thousands of new homes and jobs in over two million sq ft of commercial space. The Opportunity To fully embrace and enhance house and by doing so evolve the concept to ensure it remains innovative, fresh and brave; whilst rolling out the offering nationwide. This is an opportunity to join the boldest and newest form of residential development in the UK. By providing modern, high quality, affordable housing in central urban locations, Urban Splash/hoUSe is regenerating city centres and creating life opportunities. With the support of the Directors, the successful candidate will oversee the following: Off site modular construction and the associated supply chain. Origination of land for development and the resultant acquisition/jv partnering. Consumer proposition and taking the product to market through modern and innovative channels. Over time this person will become Head of house and fully responsible for: identifying, structuring and managing JV partnerships with landowners; leading, developing and growing the team whilst managing consultancies, contractors and other third parties; over-seeing schemes from concept/design stage through to completion of build; appreciating all commercial and financial elements, adopting a macro view but able and happy to get hands dirty when required; representing Urban Splash and house in the market, promoting the concept and wider brand. berwickpartners.co.uk 5
The Person It is unlikely that such an energetic, obsessive and confident individual with experience in construction, the supply chain, land buying, sales and marketing exists. So we are going to make one! However, there are key achievements and characteristics that are needed as a foundation from which the significant experience within Urban Splash can then help develop. These include: A BSc, BEng or BA Honours degree from a reputable university. At least three years post graduate work experience within the property, construction, consumer or manufacturing sectors. Evidence of fast tracked promotion or development in early career. Demonstrable ability to multi task, prioritise and learn quickly. Evidence of entrepreneurialism. Ambitious with a drive to succeed and determination to be the best. A creative thinker - looking to innovate, enhance and be a bit different. The confidence to stand firm in what they believe in, the modesty to appreciate alternatives and the loyalty to deliver on the decision. Commitment to living in/near Manchester.
