We have a date in 2015 This Port with 7-8 cruise ships berthed is coming sooner than you think. We need to get ready for all lodging, entertainment, and logistics of handling this volume of business in the not-too-distant too future. We have a 7-ship day already on the schedule in 2015.
Cargo Containers are the way cargo moves today, and the customer wants the most effective method and cost to move materials. Refrigerated containers are becoming the norm for perishables. Our north side facility will accommodate Reefer TEU s and have Reefer racks and required food inspection and processing.
Rail Roads Bridges Need Added Investment Highway Infrastructure for a Strong Drive Market to the Port of Choices: Three lanes (6 total) on SR 528 to Orlando is on the SIS Plan New Bridges over the river to accommodate Rail Fixed bridge over the Barge Canal west of the current one and moving SR 401 to the north
Rail Possible Future Train Light Rail Connectivity from OIA out SR 528 to the Port and down SR A1A Back to Melbourne Airport A spur from FEC / All Aboard Florida Cocoa routes need to be pursued. We want to see the day when you can go from the airports to our hotels and Port on light gauge modern rail.
