Coast 2 Coast - The Ultimate American Road Trip Roadtrip Los Angeles to Orlando 17 Days / 16 Nights Available Summer, Autumn, Spring For most of us, the term Road Trip takes us back to a simpler time in our lives, one where a set of wheels, some gas money, a place to crash for the night and the right group of people meant you could embark on a journey that you would remember for the rest of your life. EagleRider is rekindling that spirit with our new Coast 2 Coast Road Trip. Day 1 - Los Angeles Arrival Welcome to Los Angeles! We ll kick off our adventure with a Meet & Greet with your fellow riders and On Road Support Team to go over what to expect from the awesome journey ahead, as well as some important safety tips and information.
Day 2 - Los Angeles - Palm Springs Seeing as this is a Coast 2 Coast Road Trip, we will kick off our day with a ride west to the beautiful shores of the Pacific Ocean for a quick stop before heading south to pick up the famous Ortega Highway. If you love riding the twisties then today will be like motorcycle paradise for you! Our destination today is Palm Springs, a desert oasis. Warm desert air, great food and fish bowl margaritas will set the tone to finish a great day of riding. Day 3 - Palm Springs - Kingman We ll get a jump on the day and head straight for Joshua Tree National Park, a local EagleRider staff favorite day trip out of our Palm Desert location. After a great ride through Joshua Tree we will pick up the legendary Route 66 in the Old West town of Oatman, Arizona. Oatman is a must see Route 66 town that looks almost exactly like it did over 100 years ago when it was a booming mining town. From Oatman we ll cruise in to Kingman and spend the night at one of our favorite Route 66 hotels. Day 4 - Kingman - Pinetop-Lakeside Today starts with immersing ourselves in several more miles of The Mother Road, before giving riders the option to turn south at Flagstaff to explore Sedona or continue along Route 66 to stand on the corner in Winslow, Arizona. Details will be provided for both routes so you ll be comfortable with either ride. Both routes end with a spectacular ride through the Tonto National Forest. Today is one of the longer riding days, but the incredible roads and scenery also make it one of the most memorable. Day 5 - Pinetop-Lakeside - Truth or Consequences The name of this hidden New Mexico town is so cool there is no way you can pass up a night here! The only thing cooler is the ride to get there, as we snake our way along mile after mile of mind blowing terrain through the Gila National Forest. Along the way we ll ride through small towns with names like Rock Canyon and Elephant Butte. Now, how can that not be an awesome ride!
Day 6 - Truth or Consquences - Roswell Today is more of the same as we ride mile after mile of wide open spaces mixed in with dense forest roads. Highlights today are most definitely Radium Springs, Organ Mountain and White Sands National Monument. Of course, nothing compares to a night in Roswell, where s there s not a lot to do except crack a cold one and wait for ET to show his face. If you see a guy running around Roswell with tinfoil on his head, don t worry. That s probably your Support Driver, as his day job is UFO hunter! Day 7 - Roswell - Big Bend National Park We are going to get a very early start today before our off day in Big Bend National Park, and to give us time to explore Carlsbad Caverns, one of the oldest and most famous cave systems in the world. It s a long but easy ride from Carlsbad Caverns to Big Bend National Park, where we ll stay for two nights to get some rest, but mainly to have a full free day to explore one of the best kept secrets in the USA National Park System. Big Bend offers horseback tours, ATV tours, hiking, and several other ways to explore. Day 8 - Big Bend National Park Free Day. Be sure to ask your Support Driver for some ideas on how to best enjoy a day in Big Bend. Enjoy! Day 9 - Big Bend - Del Rio It s always tough to leave the beauty and serenity of Big Bend, but Austin and New Orleans are calling! On the way we will skirt the border between the USA and Mexico before landing in Del Rio, Texas. No trip through Texas is complete without a night along the infamous Rio Grande, and we have always loved hanging out in Del Rio. There s not a lot going on, but it is about as Texas as it gets.
Day 10 - Del Rio - Austin If you love real Texas BBQ, world-class live music, and more bars than you can count, well, Austin is your city. If any of you have your heart set on a night in San Antonio instead, be sure to let us know and we can easily have the Support Driver drop you there on the way to Austin, as they are very close to one another. We ll make it very easy to meet back up with the main group early the next day along the road. For those hanging in Austin, we ll arrange one of our famous EagleRider Pub Crawls tonight! Day 11 - Austin - Lake Charles Today is all about riding the back roads of Texas as we roll along the outskirts of Houston, one of the largest cities in the USA, before giving way to the laid back vibes of Louisiana. Our home tonight is Lake Charles, a fun Riverboat Gambler town with a main strip lined with casinos, restaurants and every type of bar or tavern you can imagine. Try to save some energy for New Orleans tomorrow! Day 12 - Lake Charles - New Orleans Let s drop south out of Lake Charles and get our first taste of Bayou Life. We ll cruise along the Rockefeller and Bayou Teche National Wildlife Refuges, as well as Marsh Island before setting out sights on the French Quarter. After a quick stop at the hotel to check in and get cleaned up we ll arrange a couple of our favourite meeting spots for the group, or you can explore New Orleans on your own. Either way, you ll need a couple of days to do it right! Day 13 - New Orleans Enjoy New Orleans. There are literally a million things to do in this insanely fun city so be sure to ask your Support Driver for some ideas. We love the riverboat cruise, plantation tour, walking cocktail tour, and haunted hotel tour.
Day 14 - New Orleans - Panama City Beach Today is full immersion in riding the Gulf Coast of the United States, a region that was left devastated after the BP oil spill several years ago. But people in the south and Mother Nature both have a way of thriving, and the Gulf Coast has roared back to live and once again established itself as one of the top tourist destination in the USA, and Panama City Beach is no exception. Tonight we suggest crawfish, a bucket of shrimp and an even bigger bucket of cold beer! Day 15 - Panama City Beach - Cedar Key There s no such thing as too much of a good thing, so let s go ahead and roll along the shores of the Gulf of Mexico for another day on our way to Cedar Key. Highlights today are definitely Tate s Hell State Forest and the insanely beautiful (and hard to pronounce!) Apalachicola National Forest. You re in gator country now so watch where you put your feet down when you stop! Our stop tonight is Cedar Key, a sleep costal town that is about as Gulf of Mexico as it gets. Great food and even better locals to hang and laugh with await. Day 16 - Cedar Key - Daytona Beach It s an easy ride to Daytona, and if you re in the October group we ll get there at the beginning of the world-famous Biketoberfest, the little brother to Daytona Bike Week. Let us know if you want to spend the rest of the weekend enjoying Biketoberfest with 100,000 of your closest friends and we ll be sure to extend you an awesome rate on the bike and hotel. All you have to do is drop the bike off in Orlando before grabbing your flight home! We ll arrange our famous Farewell Celebration tonight! Day 17 - Orlando Departure If you can t hang around Biketoberfest, or if you re in a different group, we ll get a late start and make the short ride back to EagleRider Orlando to drop the bikes and say our final farewells. If you need a hotel and bike to hang around Orlando and take in the attractions and amusements parks be sure to let us know and we ll shoot you an awesome deal. Until next year, thanks for riding with EagleRider!
