F r e e d o m F l y e r P a g e 3 DIRECTOR Lawrence Tubbs Hello fellow HOG members. Well it's been a wet beginning for 2017. We have already had one member go down and was injured. We need to remember to be extra cautious following adverse weather. On a different note the Transition dinner turn out was great. Around 60 people attended. It was nice to see the support of our fellow members. The food was great and thanks to all who donated raffle prizes. Lets not forget on Saturdays or Sundays that we don't have a ride or event planned you can still meet at Quaid s fire pit at 9:00 AM for a pot luck ride. Basically you just show up at the fire pit, meet others that want to ride and decide where ya'll want to go. All I ask is be safe and take pictures to share in the news letter. If anyone is interested in purchasing a copy of the DVD that was playing at the dinner let me know. I'm asking $5 each. Funds will go to Chapter after cost. If anyone has Ideas or events they want to try with the Chapter speak up. As I have said all last year if anyone has ideas for a ride let us know. So in closing.., Ride Safe Be Safe...
F r e e d o m F l y e r P a g e 4 TREASURER Randy Kim TREASURES CHEST... Well LLHOGERs, this year started off on a good note and hope to continue the trend with all of your help. In January we had cold weather but we still managed to get some riding in. We ended January with our Transition Dinner which was a huge success. Thanks to our members and guest that attended. I talked to a lot of the members in attendance and they were all excited about the venue at the Mill Creek Restaurant, from the menu to the atmosphere. The Raffle prizes that the members donated were all great. Thanks for that. It was nice for a change to see a lot of the members that came out and hopefully we can get more members to support all of our functions at our rides cookouts and especially our Premiere events that we host every year. The reason we need your help at our events is that s how we can raise money for our Charities and to keep the finances of our Chapter in the black. Even if you don t go on the Poker Rides you can still register and do the cards at the event. Who knows you might still win some of the prize money and show your support for our Chapter. We are closing the month of January with a BBQ cooking for the Quaid Raid event. Hope to see more of the members out there helping and enjoying hanging out with each other. Coming up in April on the 15th is our first Premier Event and Quaid open house. The event is to support the Precious Hearts Academy foe Autism. It s such a great thing to see the kids faces when we visit them when we present them with our donations to help make their lives easier. So be sure to mark that date. We need your help and support and the Precious Hearts Academy need our support. In closing I would like to pass along our well wishes to fellow LLHOGER Tom Lucero in a speedy recovery from the injuries he suffered in his motorcycle accident. Previous minutes approved by Bully & Clyde. Treasurer s report was read by Randy an approved by John and Clyde. Safety - Promise to do a better job than last year. Be careful out there. Director: Other: - Transition Dinner is on Saturday, Jan 21 at Mill Creek. - Saturday, Jan 28 is Quaid Raid. 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM. Also BBQ day. - Saturday, Feb 11 is 3rd Annual I Love My Hog photo shoot event at Quaid. Noon - 3:00PM. - Friday, Feb 24 is a ride to Hangar 24 grand opening in Lake Havasu grand opening. Could be an out & back ride or an over nighter. Details TBA. - Weekend of March 24 is Harley Officers Training in New Mexico. - Death Valley ride will be on April 7-9 (staying in Beatty). - April meeting would fall on Easter morning. Moving to April 23. - Going to try to keep two rides per month and something after chapter meeting. Please share riding ideas if you have them. - Last weekend in April is Laughlin 26th. Possibly can have a 1 day group ride. - Diane Davis: Run for the wall. Abate provides coffee & donuts. Need funds for this. - Bike fest in Phoenix. One week before Laughlin. Looking to see if there is interest to go there. April 6-9 - Activities - get a committee to come up with ideas and then present it to the board. - Glen Kingston: Hwy 50 ride. Ely first, run the hwy send in stamps for a certificate. Will look into coming up with dates and work it with activities. - Guest speaker Bill Davis inviting us to join Big Bear rally this coming June 15-18.
