President s Page By: Jeff McDonald August is always a busy month for Team Corvette and this year was no exception. On August 11 th those of us that did not get the rain cancellation e-mail on time headed to Vic Canevers for the car show and dinner at Boston s. The rain ended prior to the show and those of us that went to the event had a great time. Thanks Cheri for meeting up with us for dinner. August is also a busy time with Back to the Bricks. Although I was unable to attend this year s festivities, I understand it was a great time. Once again, thanks to Jim and Dee for having us at the Flint Golf Course. The pictures of the Vettes on the lawn were a beautiful site and very impressive. Each year this event gets bigger and bigger and this year continued to be a record breaking year. Wednesday was our Annual Back to the Bricks cruise party at Jim and Dee s plaza. The pictures on face book and the conversations from those that attended have told me that this was once again a fantastic event. Saturday concluded the week with the Back to the Bricks downtown event. As always, this is an event that brings Flint together. The Corvette Reunion is just a small reminder of how great Flint once was and how it is moving forward. Thanks again to all of those that attended from our club and worked any event that was needed. As we move into September, we still have lots of time to drive our Vettes. A cruise to Uncle John s Apple Orchard has been set for September 17 th. Please contact Cheri Radu as well as watch for the group e-mails regarding this event. We also have or annual cruise set for October 13 th, 14 th, and 15 th. Although we do not have Greg and Jen planning our cruise, we are sure to be in for some wonderful adventures as we travel to the West side of the state. It is hard to believe that we are already into September; and, we only have a few short months left in 2016. As many of you already know, this will be my last year as President. It has been a rewarding experience serving as your President; and, I thank you for this opportunity. In October, we will begin to take nominations for Board positions. Please consider running for one of the positions and give a small amount of time to the club. At this time, I would like to thank everyone for their support during the passing of my Mother. Even though you think you are prepared for the passing of a loved one, it sure makes it easier with friends by your side. Thank you for your thoughts, prayers, cards and visits to the funeral during this time. Your support meant the world to Marsha and myself. Once again, enjoy the last few months that we have left in this cruise season; and, if anyone decides at the last minute to throw a small cruise together there are many of us that are sitting home and would love to go for a drive. Just send a quick note out on our Group e-mail; and, I am sure people will join you. Fondly, Jeff McDonald President Page 5
