Associations are reminded of their responsibility and the importance of insurance cover for all athletes and that coaches signing entry forms have confirmed and seen all registrations including insurance cover for all their competitors. Important Note For Coaches There will be a licence registration check on the day. It is the responsibility of all associations to ensure that athletes they enter all have INSURANCE cover and registration through their association. Any competitor not holding a current licence will not be allowed to compete. All competitors can only compete in their own categories they cannot move up to compete in another category. Coaches Dress Code Coaches must be in Association tracksuits or colours etc. and must wear their coaching ID badge. Only coaches ADHEREING TO DRESS CODE and in possession of a coaches pass will be allowed on the competition area, these will be supplied at the event. Coaches passes will be provided according to the number of entries from the association. All coaches must provide his/her details to the Chief Referee. Only 1 coach is permitted at the Tatami at any one time. Coach s badges are not an entry pass to the venue they are for use on the area only. Coaches please ensure your competitors leave the area when their category finishes, this is a strict rule. Please advise your competitors accordingly regarding insurance cover

Glasgow Prestwick Airport Public Transport Links General Information There is no direct rail or bus links from Glasgow Prestwick Airport to Edinburgh City Centre during the day and early evening. The main method would be train from Prestwick Airport dedicated railway station to Glasgow Central Station then change over to Glasgow Queen Street station (short 10minute walk). Outside of normal hours there is a dedicated late evening and early morning bus service to Edinburgh. See below. Competition Rules Kata and Kumite Kata The Kata competition will be based on the Elimination System, whereby two competitors are called and perform the same Kata. The winner is decided based on the number of flags (Red or white) in his/her favour. The remaining eight competitors will be allowed to perform their Kata of Choice, while observing the rules below. The number of elimination rounds leading up to the Final Eight will vary based on the number of participants in the competition. 18 and Under: Elimination rounds will include Kata from Heian Nidan to Tekki Shodan. Final Eight can perform the above mentioned in addition to all JKS Kata. Adults: Elimination rounds will include Kata from Heian Nidan to Tekki Shodan. The more advanced rounds will include any of the following: Bassai Dai, Kanku Dai, Empi, Jion. Final Eight can perform any of the JKS Kata, but cannot perform any of the elimination round Kata. Kumite 18 and Under: All 18 and under matches are decided in a one and a half minute / Ippon Shobu match, including the Final match. Adults: The adults matches are decided in a two minute / Ippon Shobu match. The adults Male Final match is decided in a 5 minute / Sanbon Shobu (three Ippon) match. The first to get two Ippon will be declared the winner. The adults Female Final match is decided in a 3 minute / Sanbon Shobu (three Ippon) match. The first to get two Ippon will be declared the winner.
Kata and Kumite Update Kata: - Junro Kata will not be part of the elimination rounds of the Kata Competition. However, individuals may perform any of the Junro Kata in the Finals of the Kata Competition. Kumite Competitor's necessary gear: - Karate Gi and Belt. - Hand supporters. (white) - Mouth piece. - Sewing kit to be used for sewing the competitor's participation badge on the back of the Karate Gi.
Team Events Adults, male and female, Kata and Kumite Adults & Children team events in Kata and Kumite are now officially part of the championship. Participation in Team Kata event is UK 50, and Team Kumite event is UK 50, per team. Please use the following application form to submit your entry. One team per Dojo/Branch is allowed.
