Daryl Shrider Activity Director Holiday Valley Mid-Week Wrap-Up Even though Cadillac Jack s, Burger King, and the panty tree are all gone, the lucky few that got to Holiday Valley were treated with great conditions and good times. Sunday started out sunny in the morning with an inch of fresh snow but by late afternoon a lot of the slopes were skied off. The wine and cheese party was a success in our handicapped room. It was fun reminiscing about the day and hearing about trips of the past. We woke up Monday to the snow flying and a couple of inches of fresh snow. It was ski on the lifts all day. We met at the Yodeler Lodge for lunch, a group picture, and then headed back out to completely burn our legs out. The finale on Tuesday was blessed with three inches of snow that rivaled any I have skied out west, light and dry. We were able to ski until 3 that afternoon before heading back home to reality. Even though many things have changed at Holiday Valley one thing remained the same, great skiing. Tom Schmidt If you have the time and the money, here is possible Western trip for you this year: The Columbus Ski Club has openings on their Big Sky trip, April 4 - April 11, 2015. The Land package is $969 with lift tickets, $679 without. They will be staying at the Huntley Lodge, which does feature a daily breakfast. The Next 2 Happy Hours Thank you everyone for your suggestions so far, I am working on figuring out when it will be the best time to visit each of them. This year, I am going to try and get to as many places which donated to the Sh-sh-shilent Auction as possible. I am sorry for cancelling February s, but weather-wise, it just made sense. Thank you all for your help. March s Happy Hour will be at the Old Market House Inn in Zanesville on Friday the 20th starting around 6pm. Per usual, come when you can, but if someone from the Zanesville area could be there by 6p that would be quite helpful, as I will, of course, be running late! April s Happy Hour will be held in Heath at Tequilaville, which has been suggested by a few members and also donated, so two birds one giant margarita! Stay warm & get Happy, Hour that is ;~}

In gratitude, TAASC is working toward getting a representative to come talk to us at the March meeting. If you missed their talk last time (a few years ago), this would be a good time to get to know this fine, all-volunteer organization. As a side point, they are also looking for volunteers to help on Friday, March 6th for a Veterans event at Mad River Mountain. A large group will be there & any help would be appreciated. Carr Center Cake Auction 2015 This year s Carr Center Cake Auction will be held on April 23-24 at Zanesville s Colony Square Mall. For the second year, the Newark Ski Club will be entering a cake in the great fundraiser for The Carr Center, which is doing some amazing things in the Zanesville area. Please let everyone you know about our cake and the Auction itself, then come out & make our donation bring in the most money!!!
