Sanctuary Baines Camp, Okavango Delta Page 1 of 8
Intimate Camp Sanctuary Baines Camp is located on a vast private concession bordering the Moremi Game Reserve in the Okavango Delta. Named after the 19th century explorer and painter Thomas Baines, this is Sanctuary s smallest camp with just five suites. An eco-friendly property, Sanctuary Baines Camp was built using only commercially grown wood, with over 150,000 recycled aluminium cans incorporated within the walls to provide insulation. Star Baths & Sky Beds The five suites are set on elevated platforms that offer expansive views over a permanent lagoon on the Boro River. All have en suite facilities, traditional safari ceiling fans and four-poster sky beds swathed in mosquito netting. The beds can easily be wheeled out onto the private wooden deck for a night under the stars. For the ultimate indulgence, guests can enjoy a star bath on the deck. Page 3 of 8
Game Viewing The Okavango Delta is home to some of the most spectacular wildlife on Earth with leopard, crocodile and elephant all seen close to camp. Because the camp is located on a private concession, guests have the opportunity to see animals up close on both morning and evening game drives. Guests can also discover the signs of the bush, accompanied by their guide and armed ranger, on exciting walking safaris. Page 4 of 8
Mokoros & Motorised Boating One of the best ways to view the wildlife around Sanctuary Baines Camp is in a mokoro, a locally made dugout canoe. Explore the waterways and lagoons that make up the Okavango Delta as you look for hippos and crocodiles in the water and see the plains game from a new angle. Sanctuary Baines Camp also has motorised boats that can be used when the rivers are in flood. Page 5 of 8
