HAVE A FABULOUS FESTIVAL Christmas is a time for everyone to enjoy the community spirit. Cumnock Action Plan are inviting you, your family and friends to join in another community celebration in Cumnock s Town Centre. We are delighted to welcome you to the third Cumnock Christmas Festival. This time, it is bigger and better with more than 50 indoor and outdoor stalls, Fun Fair Rides and a return of some favourites from last year which you can read all about in this brochure. Events for this year We have a wide selection of outdoor and indoor market stalls which will tempt you with lots of delicious food and drink to suit every taste and for some fantastic Christmas gift ideas. Mr & Mrs Santa Claus will make their appearance at 5.15pm from the Tanyard into the Square and their sleigh will be parked between the Royal Hotel and the Church in the Square where kids will get a present for a small fee of 2 from Team Santa so make sure they are on the good-kid list! Our local retailers are opening late to allow you to enjoy their Christmas fayre, so grab some great offers and shop local. We have a mobile nativity play performed by 5 local churches, a Christmas themed treasure hunt throughout town, a lantern parade, prize bingo, competitions, live entertainment, DJ workshops and lots more happening during the course of the evening Look out for the amazing street performers too! Entertainment in the Square Guest compere Allan Gray will be announcing the programme. A Family Christmas Ceilidh Cumnock Town Hall 7pm - 11.30pm 4 per person or 10 family ticket - All ages welcome. As part of Cumnock s Christmas Festival Cumnock Town Hall will be hosting a Christmas Ceilidh for all family members to enjoy. As seen on ITVs This Morning, the Borland Ceilidh Band, from Kilmarnock and Irvine are one of Scotland s music and cultural gems who will be hosting this wonderful evening. The band known for their energetic traditional music will provide a night of music that everyone can enjoy no matter how many dances they know. They will have a dedicated dance instructor on the floor all night to ensure that everyone can fully participate. They will also pick the dances, and tempo, to suit the dancers so that the ceilidh remains inclusive for all. Come along and enjoy a fun night for all the family! Outdoor Market Stalls In the Square, Lugar Street and Hamilton Place This year we have a wide range of stalls all ready to offer you a wide choice of delectable goodies and that special gift for someone. ALL stalls will be open from 2.30pm to allow you to browse and buy before the start of the festival at 4pm Indoor Market Stalls Parish Church Hall at the bottom of Barrhill Road, and the Church Hall in Ayr Road. After last year s success we have extended the indoor stalls to 2 Church Halls to give space to more local crafters, businesses and organisations to lay out what they have on offer to make your Christmas celebrations go with a zing. Santa's Sleigh Stop Santa, Mrs Claus and a host of Elves will be helping distribute children s presents. 2 each. DJ Workshops Following the success of last year, SGs Barbers in the Square will be hosting a brilliant DJ workshop - organised by Utterstudios and local DJ and Ibiza legend, Stephen Holland. Pick up DJ tips using state of the art equipment. 4.30 7pm Vintage Village Get on board the Vintage Fire Engine and Police Car next to Santa s Sleigh at the new 1906 Bar and toot your horn! 4-7pm Prize Bingo Thanks to the Coffee Pot we are hosting good old fashioned prize Bingo. Get your lucky pen looked out for some great prizes! We have 2 sessions with 2 games in each session first at 4.15pm second at 5pm. A prize for a line and for a full-house. Festive Offers Lots of local businesses are open late and they have some fantastic Christmas offers for you from shortbread to ginger wine. Look out for them about town. 4 7pm Festive Competitions All competitions have a prize. Winners will be announced from the stage at 7pm. Bling Your Wheels Parade Yes, you can dress up your baby buggy, pram or wheelchair with lots of lights, decorations or whatever you want and strut your stuff in front of the Main Stage to win a fabulous prize. Parade in front of stage at 7pm. Best Festive Shop Window Our local shops have entered the Christmas spirit in a big way! Sparkle, glitter, tinsel and bling. Winners will be announced from the stage at 7pm. Toilets The public toilets at the Tanyard Bus Station will be open for the Christmas Festival. Health and Safety Cumnock Action Plan Christmas Festival organisers met with the Safety Action Group representatives from East Ayrshire Council Building Standards, Licensing and Planning departments and Police Scotland, Ayrshire Roads Alliance, Ambulance Services, Scottish Fire and Rescue Services and have put together a comprehensive Event Management Guide to ensure a safe and happy festival. In the event of an emergency, please follow Stewards instructions First Aid provision is available from Burnside Events located beside the stage in the Square next to the Lost Children Safe Area. If you require any assistance, CAP Stewards will be located throughout the Square and at our indoor and other outdoor venues look out for the Stewards in Hi-Vis vests with Cumnock Action Plan printed on the back. Please ensure that everyone in your family is aware of this. Wrap up warm, keep your personal belongings safe, but most of all have fun and enjoy the festive spirit. Do you want to get involved in what s going on in your community, but don t know what you could do? We d love to have a chat with you and identify some opportunities where you can get involved.
