WARNINg Personal injury or system damage may result if this backpressure regulator, relief or differential relief valve is installed where service conditions could exceed the limits given on regulator nameplate. Additionally, physical damage to the backpressure regulator or relief valve may result in personal injury or property damage due to escaping of accumulated gas. To avoid such injury and damage, install the backpressure regulator or relief valve in a safe location. under enclosed conditions or indoors, escaping gas may accumulate and be an should be piped outdoors. WARNINg To avoid personal injury, property damage or equipment damage caused by sudden release of pressure or explosion of accumulated gas, do not attempt any maintenance or disassembly or regulator from system pressure and relieving all internal pressure from the relief valve or regulator. To avoid possible personal injury from spring or pressure-loaded actuator, make sure that the adjusting screw is completely backed off or the spring case pressure is vented prior to disassembly. Otherwise, the spring load or loading pressure could forcefully eject the spring case. Relief valves or regulators that have been disassembled for repair must be tested for proper operation before being returned to service. Only parts manufactured by emerson should be used for repairing Fisher relief valves and regulators. Due to normal wear or damage that may occur from external sources, this relief valve or backpressure regulator should be inspected and maintained periodically. The frequency of inspection and replacement of parts depends upon the severity of service conditions or the requirement of local, state and federal rules and regulations. Disassembly to Replace Diaphragm and Seats CAuTION Metal diaphragms have thin sharp edges. To avoid hand cuts, be careful when handling the diaphragm, particularly the diaphragm edge. For Types MR98LD, MR98HD and MR98HHD: For Types MR98L, MR98H and MR98HH: Note If a metal diaphragm is to be replaced by an elastomer diaphragm or an elastomer diaphragm by a metal diaphragm, a new pusher post is required. each diaphragm material requires a different pusher post length and make sure the proper number of metal or elastomer diaphragm that will be used is followed. Refer to the Parts number of diaphragm to be used. 15
