ELT was located and silenced. SWE LAND 2 10 2 10 Kent Harrison SAR members responded to an RCMP request for 2 missing people, possibly in the 20 Mile Bay area of the Harrison Forest Service Road (FSR). Subjects were assisted by a local FN community after getting their vehicle stuck, just off of the FSR. SAR was stood down and tasking is concluded at this time. SEA LAND 1 6 1 6 Revelstoke SAR members responded to a missing snowmobiler on Boulder Mountain, near Revelstoke. SAR was en route when the subject was located by fellow sledders on the mountain. SEA LAND 1 28 1 28 Nelson, Rossland and South Columbia SAR members responded to assist with an overdue 51 year old male skier that is possibly lost somewhere between Ymir Peak and the Bowl, near Ymir, south of Nelson. The subject was located in good condition and passed off to BCAS for assessment. SEA LAND 1 17 1 14 Nelson, 3 South Columbia SAR responded to an RCMP request to assist with a stuck snowmobiler in the Give Out Creek Trail area, south-west of Nelson. Teams were able to successfully locate and bring out the subject who was passed to RCMP, tasking is concluded at this time. CTL LAND 2 21 2 21 Kamloops SAR members responded to an RCMP request to search for 2 skiers in the West Bowl of Sun Peaks ski resort. RCMP have made contact with the 2 subjects and are bringing them out. NWE LAND 1 5 1 5 Buckley Valley Search and Rescue members responded to an RCMP request to search for an overdue goat hunter who failed to check in via In-Reach in the Bates Range. Subject was found in good condition and escorted out. SWE LAND 2 3 2 3 Whistler SAR responded to 2 lost skiers on the Spearhead Traverse in Whistler area. Skiers were found stranded and fatigued, SAR brought them out and released them at the airport SWE LAND 1 2 1 2 North Shore Rescue members responded to locate a lost skier on Mt. Seymour on Feb 25 at 18:20. NSR was stood down when Mt. Seymour Ski Patrol located the subject unharmed. SEA LAND 1 5 1 1 Castlegar SAR member and 4 Arrow Lakes SAR members responded to an RCMP request to search for an injured 24Y/O male that had sent a spot beacon msg to his father stating that he had been injured in the Galena Bat area of Nakusp. As SAR was mustering to respond, RCMP called back and stood them down as it turned out it was an MVI and spot beacon was the only means of communication as cell coverage was non existent. SWE LAND 1 1 1 1 Squamish SAR member responded to an RCMP request to search for one individual that had

As SAR was mustering to respond, RCMP called back and stood them down as it turned out it was a false alarm. VIR LAND 1 42 1 17 Saltspring Island SAR responded to a missing 73 yr old despondent female on March 1. On March 2, 4 PEMO, 4 Cowichan Valley SAR, and 17 Saltspring SAR responded and were stood down when the subject was found with friends. SWE LAND 1 30 1 30 Hope SAR responded to a missing trucker east of Silver Tip Mountain. Team was able to locate the truck and found the driver to be trapped inside the vehicle. Team with assistance from a mechanic were eventually able extricate the driver from the vehicle and pass to Ambulance for transport to hospital. SWE LAND 2 7 2 7 Kent Harrison SAR responded to RCMP request for a missing person that is believed to have fled from a motor vehicle accident where a vehicle went off an embankment on Morris Valley Road area in Kent. Team conducted a search of the area and have been stood down pending new information from RCMP, 2 people are in hospital and it is unclear if there was a third person in the vehicle. VIR LAND 1 17 1 9 PEMO, 8 Metchosin SAR responded to a lost hiker near Gowland Todd Park, North Saanich. SAR was able to locate the subject alive and well and bring out where they were passed to BCAS. SWE LAND 1 1 1 1 North Shore Rescue responded to search for a lost snowboarder out-of-bounds at Cypress Mountain. SAR was stood down prior to responding as the Ski Patrol was able to get the subject out. SWE LAND 2 10 2 9 North Shore Rescue and 1 convergent volunteer responded to locate two lost hikers in Headwaters Park. Team located them cold, but uninjured and escorted them safely off the mountain. SEA LAND 1 18 1 18 Revelstoke SAR members responded to RCMP request to rescue an injured snowmobiler who went off a bridge up the Kirkup FSR near Boulder Mtn. He was brought out by SAR and turned over to BCAS with a possible broken back and broken leg. SWE LAND 1 1 1 1 North Shore Rescue members responded to RCMP request to investigate a possible missing skier after a vehicle was left parked in the Cypress parking lot. SAR was stood down when the subject returned to their vehicle. SEA LAND 1 1 Banff Emergency Services responded to an elderly male with chest pains at Assiniboine Lodge outside of Banff. Subject transferred to a paramedic in Alberta in early afternoon. SWE LAND 1 4 1 4 Whistler SAR responded to an injured snowmobiler on Sprott Mountain. SAR members safely extracted the subject and turned him over to BCAS. SWE LAND 1 17 1 17 Whistler SAR responded to an individual who was buried by an avalanche near Hanging Lake. SAR personnel located the subject deceased. SWE LAND 1 20 1 20 North Shore Rescue responded to a subject that was buried up to his neck in snow due to an avalanche just outside of the Cypress Bowl area.

SWE LAND 1 2 1 2 members of Whistler SAR responded to rescue an injured snowmobiler on Rainbow Mountain. SAR located the subject and flew her out to a staging area where she was then transferred to BCAS. SEA LAND 1 4 1 4 members of Golden SAR responded to search for a stranded skier out-of-bounds on Kicking Horse Mountain. After nothing was located, they were SEA LAND 1 1 1 1 Nelson SAR responded to an RCMP request for a spot beacon activation in the Whitewater area. SAR was stood down when it was found out that the beacon activation was a false alarm. CTL LAND 1 18 1 18 Kamloops SAR responded to search for a snowboarder missing at Sun Peaks. Subject was located and was turned over to the RCMP. SEA LAND 1 6 1 5 Castlegar & 1 Nelson SAR responded to an RCMP request for a missing snowmobiler in the Goose Creek area near Castlegar. They were stood down when the subject was located uninjured by others in the area. CTL LAND 1 3 1 3 Vernon SAR were stood down prior to responding to search for a missing ATV'er in the Armstrong area as he returned on his own. SWE LAND 2 2 2 2 Coquitlam SAR responded to two missing hikers in the Bunson Lake area. The subjects walked out on their own and SAR was SWE INLAND 2 9 2 9 Kent Harrison SAR members responded for 2 WATER missing boaters on Cascade Bay/Harrison Lake area. Subjects brought to shore safely. VIR LAND 1 2 1 2 Comox Valley SAR responded to a diabetic female at Mt. Washington Ski Resort. Ski Patrol ended up extracting the subject and SAR was CTL INLAND WATER 1 3 1 3 Nicola Valley SAR responded to a vehicle in the river with one occupant. The fire department managed to extract the subject safely and SAR was VIR LAND 8 24 8 24 Alberni Valley Rescue Squad responded to 8 lost hikers along the Rogers Creek Nature Trail. Subjects brought out alive and well by SAR. SEA LAND 1 5 1 5 Central Okanagan SAR members and 3 convergent volunteers responded to search for a lost snowmobiler near Greystokes Road and Hwy 33. WEEKLY INCIDENT REPORT 27 Feb 5 Mar 2017 DANGEROUS GOODS On 02 Mar 2017 RCMP discovered a Clandestine Super Lab in a rural location in Rock Cr. Ministry of Environment Response Officer (MOE RO) raised the incident to a Code 2 (urgent status) due to potential risk to public safety. ON 04 Mar 2017 A truck transporting Difluoroethane was located on its side near Heather Mt Lodge in Golden. Ministry of Environment (MOE RO) raised the incident to a Code 2 (urgent status) due to potential risk to public safety. On 04 March there was an employee at the Burdwood Fish Farms in Echo bay that accidently left the diesel pump open causing 3000 litres of diesel to go to the fish farm. Ministry of Environment Response Officer (MOE RO) raised the incident to a Code 2 (urgent status) due to potential risk to environment and public safety. BODY RECOVERY On 02 March 2017 RCMP requested SAR to help with a body recovery on the north side of the Malahat near Bamberton. Cowichan Valley and Salt Spring Island SAR aided with the extrication of the body.
