LODGE 460 CABIN Part No. 920645 ASSEMBLY & CARE INSTRUCTIONS

SPECIFICATIONS PRE USE Size: 460L x 360W x 240H cm Material: Heavy duty polycotton blend Walls: 250g/m2 Roof: 340g/m2 Windows: 6 Side & Rear Mesh: Ultra Fine Floor: Heavy Duty PVC Zip: No. 8 & 10 Weight: 58 kg POLES LIST Finish: Galvanised (1) 3 pieces (2) 4 pieces (3) 2 pieces (4) 1 piece (5) 2 pieces (6) 1 piece (7) 3 pieces (8) 2 pieces (9) 2 pieces (10) 1 piece (11) 4 pieces Before using your tent for the first time, it should be seasoned to make it fully waterproof. This involves erecting the tent (see assembly instructions), soaking it completely with water by either rain or hose and letting the tent dry. It is the drying process that waterproofs the tent. Ensure all windows and doors are closed. This will allow the fabric and stitching to shrink and take up. Some water may wick through the stitching during this process. If any wicking occurs in the future, rub the stitching with a wax stick which will seal the area (available at camping stores). Repeat the wetting and drying process 2 or 3 times. The tent should now be waterproof. Allow tent to dry completely, clean before rolling and storage. Always make sure that your tent is completely dry before packing away. Any moisture in the fabric will cause it to mildew and dramatically reduce its life. Mildewed fabric or fabric damaged by mildew is not covered under warranty. Never store a wet and/or soiled tent, as mildew and/or corrosion will form within a few days. This condition is not covered by factory warranty. HELPFUL INFORMATION STEP 1 Choose your tent site carefully by ensuring the following. Choose a level firm surface clear of any overhanging tree branches and clear of sticks, stones or any other objects that may damage the floor of your tent.

STEP 2 Remove the tent from bag and roll out with the door facing the desired direction. Make sure all zips are closed to keep the tent in its correct shape. Pull out the 4 corners of the floor firmly and peg into position before inserting all other pegs around the perimeter of the floor. Make sure all pegs are fitted before continuing. STEP 3 Insert the three ridge poles (1) into the ridge sleeve in the centre and loops on both sides of the tent roof. Make sure that you do not miss any loops including the black webbing loops. Note: Inspect poles marked (1) and ensure that the locating hole for the awning frame is positioned at in them, these are to be positioned in the front of the tent. STEP 4 Fit all poles marked (2) in to the 2 side ridge poles (1). All poles on the front of the tent must be pushed through the fabric socks in the roof of the awning before being attached to the ridge poles. Note: Inspect poles marked (2) as two of these have locating holes in them, these are to be positioned in the front of the tent. STEP 5 OPEN ALL EXTERNAL WINDOW FLAPS BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO LIFT THE TENT. This allows air to get into the tent. Failing to do this may put undue pressure on the fabric and cause damage to the tent. STEP 6 With one person at the front of the tent and another at the rear, lift one side frame at a time and position so the tent stands on its own supported by the four corner poles. Fit the two adjustable centre poles (3) and raise the centre ridge.note: Inspect poles marked (3) as one of these will have a locating hole. This pole is to be positioned at the front of the tent. STEP 7 Open the front door of the tent and walk inside with poles (4, 5, 6) Lay pole (4) on the floor in front of the internal dividing wall across the tent. Fit the two adjustable poles (5) by slipping the C clip end up through the slot where the top edge of the sidewall joins the roof and the other end into pole (4). 1 HOOK ON AWNING RIDGE POLE (7) FITS INTO THE HOLE IN NO (3) POLE 1 7 8 8 1 3 7 3 2 2 2 2 5 6 5 7 9 10 4 9 11 11

SAFETY Ensure that the C clip connects correctly to the side ridge pole (1) of the tent and adjust length so the side ridge pole of the tent is parallel with the ground. Clip pole (6) onto the centre ridge pole (1). Connect the C clip on the other end of pole (6) onto floor pole (4) and check that it is vertical. Readjust all poles so the tent sits taut. Be careful not to push the poles up too high and put excess pressure on the fabric. STEP 8 You can now erect the awning frame by fitting the poles marked (7) to the locating holes on poles (2,3) STEP 9 Insert the spigot on the end of pole (10) through the hole in the end of centre pole (7) and the eyelet in the awning, fit a guy rope and peg directly out from the tent approximately 1.5mtrs. STEP 10 Insert the spigot on the ends of poles (9) through the holes in the end of poles (7) and the eyelets in the awning, fit guy ropes then peg approximately 1.5mtrs out from the corner of the awning. STEP 11 Fit the two number (8) poles one end at a time by removing the guy ropes and inserting the spigot on poles (9, 10) through the holes on the ends. Refit guy ropes and then tension all adjustable poles and guy ropes so the roof sits taut and will not hold water. STEP 12 Attach velcro on the side of the awning to hold poles (7) then fit guy ropes and peg directly out from the tent approx. 1.5mtrs. WARNING: KEEP all flame and heat sources away from tent fabric. NEVER use any fuel burning/oxygen consuming device, or any device that produces fumes (including stoves, lanterns, candles or heaters) in or around your tent. Inhalation of fumes may result in carbon monoxide poisoning, injury or death. DO NOT: DO NOT pitch tent near an open flame. DO NOT leave campfires unattended. DO NOT allow children or adults to use lighted candles matches or other flame sources in or near tents. DO NOT use heating, lighting or cooking equipment with open flames in or near tents. DO NOT use fuel burning/oxygen consuming devices (i.e. heaters, lanterns, or other flame sources) inside your tent at any time. DO NOT use other than recommended water repellent compounds for tent canvas. DO NOT spray the tent with insecticide. DO NOT use this tent as a dwelling. This tent is designed as a recreational product only. DO: ALWAYS extinguish campfire before leaving area. Exercise care when using electricity and lighting in and near tents. DISASSEMBLE and store tent properly after camping to ensure the tent s longevity. ALWAYS lower awnings to avoid water ponding on awning during rain. INSURE your tent against loss or damage.

CARE Primus tents have the finest water repellent treatment possible for each type of fabric. No tent, however, can be as waterproof as a house, car or similar solid structure. There are several common and natural causes that can lead to water in your tent. CONDENSATION The polycotton canvas fabrics are coated with acrylic to repel water. This coating reduces air permeability and leads to condensation similar to that which occurs on car windows under certain conditions. This is caused by lower temperatures on the outside of the tent combined with body heat on the inside of the tent. When this occurs, avoid touching walls to reduce contact leakage. Leaving the doors and windows open will reduce moisture condensation. Some condensation is normal with polycotton canvas fabrics and should not be considered as a defect. SEAM LEAKAGE Primus tents are manufactured by expert machinists with the finest water repellent treatment. However, when new and during heavy rain some seepage may occur in the seams through the needle holds created in the sewing process. This is normal and can be corrected with the application of a seam sealing compound available at camping stores. MILDEW To avoid mildew, never put your tent away wet or damp. However, if mildew occurs, use a soft bristle brush or sponge with mild detergent to clean. Let the tent dry in the sunlight and re-apply seam sealer compound on the inside of the seams. REPAIRING A TEAR For small tears, use a self-adhesive patch kit. We recommend a canvas or awning repairer for larger tears. FAULTY ZIPPER All our tents are manufactured with zippers which, if the zipper separates, you can fix the zipper by moving the slider to the beginning of the zipper tape and re-working the zipper. If this does not work, we recommend you visit a canvas or awning repairer in your area. FADING FABRIC Do not leave your tent set up in direct sunlight longer than it is necessary. If left in sunlight for prolonged periods of time, fabric will fade and weaken. FLOOR CONDENSATION Placing a ground sheet under your tent prevents the floor from feeling damp and helps prolong its life. The ground sheet should be smaller than the tent s floor to prevent rain from running under the tent. REMOVING PEGS Pegs should be pulled with another peg, hammer or a peg puller, never by pulling on the tent. Avoid pegging tent so tight that it stretches the fabric. Overstretching may cause peg loops to tear. WARRANTY This tent is covered by a 12 months warranty against faulty materials and workmanship. For warranty service your tent should be returned freight paid to the place of purchase or to Primus Australia distribution centre throughout Australia along with your original proof of purchase. Your tent will be repaired or replaced at the discretion of Primus Australia. This tent is designed for recreational use only and not as a long term dwelling. This warranty does not cover use of this tent in extreme or abnormal weather conditions, misuse, abuse, neglect or act of God. If you should have any questions, problems, comments or need spare parts on all models, contact 1300 555 197.
