During October, we invite you to collect a Positive Signs postcard from one of City of Adelaide s community centres and libraries and leave a positive message for a friend, colleague or stranger. Bring cheer and comfort when it s needed most. 2

GREEN GYM It s here! A free outdoor exercise class where you are not just improving your own health and fitness, but transforming green space and contributing to your community. Conservation Volunteers Australia, in partnership with SA Health and the City of Adelaide, has launched a Green Gym program held at Wirrarninthi Park (Park 23) on Wednesdays and Thursdays, morning and afternoon. Your exercise might take the form of planting trees, creating new green spaces or even growing fruit or vegies in a community garden and chances are you ll learn some great new skills while you exercise. To register or for more information contact Jacki Smith at Conservation Volunteer Australia on 8352 4111. SHARE YOUR IDEAS WITH US ON ADELAIDE S AGE FRIENDLY WALKING TRAILS Helping Hand Aged Care and the City of Adelaide are proud recipients of an Age Friendly SA Grant from the Government of South Australia. Together, we will engage older community members and University Allied Health students to explore and share ideas on how to improve the age friendliness of walking trails in the Adelaide Park Lands areas. Walking trails are the arteries that lead to city shops, community centres and act as common routes for physical activity, so it s important that they remain appealing and safe for all users. If you or someone you know in the community would like to join Georgia in discussions, field trips and exploration of the usability of the city, contact Lyn at Helping Hand on 8224 7875 or Karen at City of Adelaide on 8203 7319. 3
