MANALI Description: Manali is not for explanations, it should be experienced. With us, Manali becomes a Himalayan experience, to be remembered and cherished for a life time. The gurgling River Beas, the mighty snow clad mountains and symphony of the birds on the pine trees the campsite itself is an amphitheatre. The campers would enjoy staying in the tents at heights of 6000 feet at base camp at Manali and 10000 feet at top camp at Gulaba. Base camp with activities like rock climbing, rappelling, trekking to Jogini falls, manu temple, Hadimba temple, Manali village and more. Top camp with snow crafting, visit to Solang Valley and an attempt to reach Brighu Lake at 14500 feet- half of Everest. You cannot ask for more. Information: Eligibility: for students of age group 11-22 years only. Accommodation: Six participants will share one alpine tent, separate for girls and boys. Toilets & bathrooms would be of make-shift kind. Please Carry: Four pairs of rough clothes, heavy woolens, raincoat, bath towel, sports shoes, socks, slippers/floaters, woolen cap, leather gloves, sunglasses, sleeping bag, water bag with strap, torch (carry extra batteries), dinner set(steel-plate, glass, spoon, bowl), sanitary requisites, note pad & pen. All the Items mentioned should preferably be packed in a rucksack that is easier to carry. Please do not bring plastic/polythene bags or any disposable items, ornaments, cell phone and other valuables. Binoculars and camera are optional.
Tentative Itinerary: DAY 01: Depart from Vadodara / Ahmedabad. DAY 02: Arrive Delhi and Depart by bus for Manali. DAY 03: Arrival at the base camp at the height of about 6,000 ft. from sea level, in the morning. The tents will be allotted with six to seven students per tent. Orientation meeting: This first gathering is very important as it would help the campers to understand the objectives & activities of the camp. DAY 04: Half day trek to Jogini falls. A beautiful, magnificent waterfall from the height of roughly 700 ft. On way back, campers will have a bath at Vashisht hot water springs. The group will be back at the campsite for lunch. Introduction to rock-climbing and Rappelling in the afternoon (in two groups doing the activities vise versa) DAY 05: Trek to Manu temple, Old Manali village and Hadimba temple, visit to the town for actual/window shopping. Back to the campsite in the evening. (lunch can be taken at the town, on your own) DAY 06: After Breakfast shift to top camp at Gulaba at the height of about 10,000 ft from sea level, very close to the snow line. The group will leave the base camp early morning after breakfast and reach the top camp by lunch time. Orientation meeting and a short trek in the evening. DAY 07: Your appointment with the snow. The campers will be introduced to different aspects of snow walking, snow climbing, sliding in short snow crafting. Back to the top camp for lunch. Short trek in the evening and a small session on the mighty Himalayas and final target of Bhrigu Lake. DAY 08: A selected group of campers would leave for the Bhrigu lake, which is a crater lake, situated at the height of 14,500 ft. This lake remains frozen most of the time. This trek is the toughest of all. However the will power gained through our activities and the motivational spirit of the camp organisers will enable the campers to achieve this difficult task. The rest of the group will trek up to Bhrigu gorge (half-way towards Bhrigu lake). DAY 09: After breakfast the group will leave towards the base camp for feed-back session, Certificate distribution, group photographs, packing up etc at the base camp. Depart for Delhi, after lunch. DAY 10: Arrive Delhi and depart for Vadodara / Ahmedabad DAY 11: Arrive Vadodara / Ahmedabad * Final travel schedule will be ready 2 days before the departure. The balance payment should reach our office at least 15 days before the commencement of the journey. Reservation is done on first come first served basis. Ropeway/Boating charges wherever applicable..in case if any sightseeing place is cancelled or rescheduled, due to any unforeseen reasons, no refund will be given for that. Terms & Conditions: Jain food will be provided on demand as per availability. The amount once paid is non transferable. The balance payment is to be paid atleast 15 days before the departure of the batch. If balance payment is not made on time it would automatically be considered cancelled without any prior intimation and no refund would be given in this regard. Local Cheque/Demand Draft should be issued in favour of OUTDOORS UNLIMITED Outstation cheque would not be accepted. Payment against dishonored cheque/s to be paid in cash with additional charge of Rs.150/- per cheque. No refund will be given in case the participant terminates the tour at any point due to any reason. According to the strength of the group proper vehicle would be arranged and that should be acceptable to all. Participants will have to walk to visit the places that are near to the hotel or where our vehicle cannot reach. Please do not bring valuables in the tour. It will be participants duty to take care of their own luggage. Company is not liable for any kind of theft, loss or damage to your luggage. At any point during the tour if any damage is done to the hotel property or bus or at any other point knowingly or unknowingly by any participant the responsible participant will have to bear the total damage charges and will have to settle it on the spot. Tour may be cancelled if there is not enough strength, actual amount paid by the participant towards the trip will be refunded by A/c payee cheque only. No other claims will be entertained. It is the responsibility of participant to collect the necessary travel documents from our office on time. The organisers or any individual connected with it will no be held responsible in case of any accident or any unforeseen calamity. The Company reserves the unconditional right to refuse a booking/terminate a passenger on tour in event of unreasonable behaviour at any time. The Company has the right at any time and for any reason to amend, alter, vary or withdraw/substitute a hotel, travel arrangement or independent contractor for the reasons, which may be deemed fit and proper by the Company. The passengers shall have no rights to raise any dispute regarding the same. In case if the tour days increases due to any unforeseen circumstances, the participants will have to pay Rs.700/- per head per day in cash to the tour manager. Outdoors Unlimited has the right to use the participant's name, information and photographs in promotional materials, brochures and press releases.
In case if any rescue operation is to be undertaken, it will be charged from the participants on actual basis. In case if the tour is cancelled or abandoned due to any unforeseen circumstances, no refund would be given. Organisers will not be responsible towards any internal disputes arising with fellow participants. Any claim or complaint by the passenger must be notified to the Company in writing within ten days after the tour completion date. No claim notified to the Company outside this period will be entertained and the Company shall incur no liability in respect thereof. If the passenger has any complaint in respect of services provided by any of the independent contractors, the passenger shall immediately notify the same to the independent contractor and a copy thereof should be handed over to the tour manager, to enable the Company to take up the matter with the independent contractor. The signing of the booking form by the passengers shall mean acceptance in totality of the Terms and Conditions contained herein by the passengers. In case of one or more, but not all passengers signing the Booking Form, it shall be deemed that the others have duly authorized the concerned signing passenger. Disputes, if any, will be subject to jurisdiction of VADODARA courts only.
