Flight Record Overview (USAF) G/TIMS Flight records are a core component of the TIMS system. They are completed for flight and simulator events. Under standard operating conditions, the flight record application loads all relevant mission data from lines on the executing schedule. This Quick Guide provides an introduction to the TIMS flight record application. Flight Record Application Overview Completed flight records update other components of the TIMS system including: Gradebooks or Training Jackets Scheduler Applications Dotsheets and ARMS The TIMS 78 is comprised of six grids:. Mission Data. Flight Data 3. Aircrew Data 4. Training Data 5. Remarks 6. Activity Data 3 4 5 6 Accessing Flight Records Flight records are accessed from two locations in the TIMS Browser:. The Flight Records button in the Results menu. A link in the Tasks grid Note: The link in the Tasks grid is only displayed once the associated schedule line is executed. We will now review both methods for accessing flight records.
Results Menu Click Flight Records. The Open Flight Record window appears. Tip Scheduled events are automatically displayed under the Pending bar. Two additional bars display Recently Flown and Recently Viewed flight records. Click the appropriate link. The flight record appears. T Tip The Find Flight Records tab allows searches for specific flight records based on any combination of Date Range, Crew, and Organization. A separate radio button allows searches by Document Number. T Tip 3 The flight record application automatically assigns document numbers.
Tip 4 The Find Schedule Lines tab of the Open Flight Record window allows searches for scheduled missions by Date and Organization. This is useful for the rare occasions in which a non-crewmember may complete a flight record. T4 Task Grid Click the pending link for the mission in the Tasks grid. The flight record appears. Mission Data Grid The Mission Data grid tracks administrative data including: Flying organization Tail number Pilot initials Note: The Pilot Initials field is required. 3
Flight Data Grid The Flight Data grid captures details about each leg of the mission including: Departure and arrival airfields Takeoff and land times Total Landings The grid contains several automatically calculated fields including: Flight Time Night hours Total Landings Aircrew Data Grid The Aircrew Data grid displays information regarding the crew. Note: All Privacy Act data displayed here is fictitious. Default Duty Codes are displayed and can be modified from the drop-down menu if necessary. Time entry for crewmembers is the key input in this grid. 4
Training Data Grid The Training Data grid captures event data. All crewmembers that received training during the mission must be entered in this grid. Note: Several fields in this grid are automatically populated and cannot be edited directly. T5 Key fields include: Event Status Instructor or Evaluator Tip 5 The Status field displays CM, or complete, by default. If necessary, select INC, or incomplete, and then select an option from the Reason dropdown menu. Remarks Grid The Remarks grid is an open text field used to enter any additional mission information. Note: Remarks are printed on the back of the 78. 5
Activity Data Grid The Activity Data grid displays information regarding specific crewmember activities. Crewmembers that log Pri, Sec, Intsr, or Eval times must record at least one activity. Other inputs include the Airspace Usage panel which is an optional entry that may be required locally. Messages Panel The Messages panel provides real-time information regarding required inputs or data errors that must be addressed before the flight record can be submitted. 6
