Tasks and goals Within the project Development and implementation of a marketing and communication strategy for the European Eco-label for campsite services the contractors were present at MONDO NATURA in Rimini. MONDO NATURA is the most important fair in Northern Italy for natural and environmental tourism. It addresses to main stakeholders in this field of tourism (campsite owners, associations, guides, tour operators, travel agencies, organisers, magazines). The presentation of the European Eco-label on campsite services had following tasks: Active presentation to relevant stakeholders in camping tourism Raise the level of recognition among decision makers in tourism Find interested campsite owners to apply for the European Eco-label Meet relevant stakeholders to position this environmental award and achieve support As target area we focused on the Northern Italian provinces. - 2 -

Result 1. General Dagmar Diwok organised in close co-operation with Rainer Stifter and the Conference Centre Fiera Rimini a presentation at the Camping exhibitions Rimini, one of the most important exhibitions for camping guests as well as for camping owners in Italy. 2. EU Eco-label presented at MONDO NATURA A presentation was organised on the 11 September 2005 from 14.30 16.30 at the premises of the conference centre. 4. Presentation In close co-operation with Fiera Rimini we organised a successful presentation of the EU Eco-label towards main Italian stakeholders in campsite tourism. The speakers: Dagmar Diwok, ACTA, Moderation and the situation in Italy Rainer Stifter, Energon, The European situation and the first awarded campsites Christina Laghi, ARPA Emiliga Romana, Experiences in the Italian province Emiglia Romana Paolo Colpo, Euroervizi sqa, Experiences from the first Italian camp site Campeggio Dolomiti di Brenta with the EU Eco-label for campsites. Dagmar Diwok then presented the European Eco-Label for tourist accommodation service, describing its characteristics, the latest developments all over Europe and the necessities for those who want to adopt it. 5. Announcement and press relations The Italian organisation ACTA and the conference Centre Rimini informed about the event and about 25 interested persons came to listen to the presentation out of which 2/3 were journalists and media representatives. It was in particular interesting as local media representatives and TV stations asked for more information and an interview with Dagmar Diwok was organised straight after the event. In addition to the event press releases were launched in the press centre and Dagmar Diwok and Rainer Stifter spend their day at the exhibition to inform mainly tourist regions, camp site media, camp site guides and camp site owners personally about the EU Ecolabel. A TV interview was filmed by the crew of Camper Magazine (http://www.campermagazine.it ), concerning general information regarding the EU Eco-label for campsites, and the possibilities it could offer for Italian campsites, particularly in the southern regions. The interview has been broadcast on 3 regional Italian networks during a program dedicated to open air and natural tourism: Televomero, Canale 10 and Tele Prima Caserta. It will also be broadcast shortly by a network hosted on the Sky platform, channel 888, Italy in the World. A digital recording of the program will be supplied by the network later. - 4 -

6. Acquisition One of the major objectives was to look for potential campsite owners to apply for the EU Ecolabel. Result in brief: A few campsite owners were interested in the EU Eco-label, we provided them detailed information. The topics of the meetings were costs, application procedure, criteria. All the important contacts will be followed up from the EU Eco-label marketing team! The acquisition team: Mrs. Dagmar Diwok, 11/9/2005 Mr. Rainer Stifter, 11/9/2005 7. List of contacts The eco-label marketing team was very engaged to meet as many relevant decision-makers in tourism as possible. The objectives were primarily: Present the EU Eco-label (raise the level of recognition at stakeholders) Find partners for the promotion of the EU Eco-Label Find commitments with guides Find potential campsite owners to apply for the EU Eco-label The complete list of participants at the seminar will be released by the Rimini fair organisation in a later date. - 5 -
