We have also kept in the old favourites which are always well received. We are looking forward to you joining us for some wonderful days out. SUNDAY 8TH JULY / HAMPTON COURT FLOWER SHOW Experience the world s largest annual flower show in the setting of the historic palace at the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show. Explore innovative show gardens and snap a picture of the stunning flower displays. Watch demonstrations by both celebrity gardeners and chefs around the showgrounds. Plus, get tips on gardening in a changing climate and shop for garden supplies to create your own little oasis at home. Please remember when purchasing plants that they will have to be stored in the boot of the coach so fragility and size will be a restricting factor. 08.05 07.30 49.95inc 45.95inc D SATURDAY 14TH JULY / CHICHESTER & BOGNOR REGIS We visit Chichester which was originally a Roman settlement - this compact city still boasts some of the UK s oldest buildings including a lovely Norman cathedral and narrow lanes dotted with charming cafes. In the afternoon we continue to Bognor Regis; a traditional seaside town with stunning parks and gardens where you can sit and enjoy the sights and sounds of everything going on. On average Bognor Regis has more sunshine than any other town in Britain! 08.15 07.15 19.95 15.95 A SATURDAY 21ST JULY / BRISTOL HARBOUR FESTIVAL Bristol s biggest and best free festival is back taking over the city s waterfront. Held in the City of Bristol since 1971 the Harbour festival celebrates the city s martime heritage and the importance of the docks and harbour. The Harbour Festival has a variety of entertainment from dance acts, street performances, interactive theatre, international circus acts, a mix of muscians plus a variety of other entertainment and good food and drink. The main attractions are designed to engage all of the communities of Bristol as well as entertain the thousands of visitors to the city. THURSDAY 26TH JULY POOLE Poole boasts Europe s largest natural harbour, providing a stunning location for all types of water sport. The bustling Quay is a great place to sit back and watch fishermen unloading their catch and millionaire s yachts arriving back home. FRIDAY 27TH JULY / WORLD OF COUNTRY LIFE & EXMOUTH It s not everyday you can hand feed a deer or llama, walk a pygmy goat or bottle feed a lamb but you can do all of this and more at the award winning World of Country Life in Exmouth. You will never forget the hilarious animal racing events Lamb National, Quacky Races or Total Ferret Wipeout and the amazing flying displays by Hawkridge Birds of Prey all add to the fun. The country s most inland port, the city has seen unprecedented regeneration in the last decade, most visibly at the city s historic docks. Then it is on to Westbury Court Garden, originally laid out between 1696 and 1705 this is the only restored Dutch water garden in the country. With a dedicated cheese market featuring quality cheese producers from all over the country. Entertainment is the life and soul of the festival with live music acts, choirs and dancers. Caerphilly Castle is transformed into a medieval encampment with re-enactment displays and battles. TUESDAY 31ST JULY HOUSE OF MARBLES & TRAGO MILLS Based on an historic site of pottery making, the House of Marbles produce quality vintage and traditional toys and games. You will be entertained for hours by the wonderful array of marble runs, animated animals, fairground mirrors, penny press and a giant floating marble. TUESDAY 21ST AUGUST BBC BRISTOL STUDIOS TOUR Now in its 80th year, BBC Bristol, the regional television centre for the West of England, sits amongst the pretty Georgian buildings of Whiteladies Road. The BBC Natural History Unit also based here, is seen as a world leader as producer and broadcaster of Natural History content, creating programmes like Frozen Planet, Africa and Planet Earth. During the tour you ll hear how TV and radio programmes are and have been made here as well as have a go at presenting the news and weather and star in your own radio drama. There ll also be the chance to see the Points West and Radio Bristol studios and possible the rooftop garden outside studio where the Points West weather forecast is sometimes broadcast. Informative, interesting and fun. The tour lasts 90 minutes, and the remainder of our day will be spent at Cabot Circus. WEDNESDAY 22ND AUGUST / TEWKESBURY MARKET & GLOS/WARKS RAILWAY Tewkesbury offers something for everyone. Take a riverside stroll along the River Severn, marvel at the 12th Century ceiling in Tewkesbury Abbey then discover Tewkesbury s famous network of alleyways and medieval old town. Wander along Tewkesbury high street and you ll find an eclectic mix of shops, cafes and tea rooms, pubs and bistros. Today you can also browse the open air market, which normally holds up to 100 stalls selling fruit, vegetables, meat, fish, clothes and home wares. Then it is onto Broadway where we catch the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway as our diesel train takes us through pleasant scenery into Cheltenham from where we re-join our coach. It is a superb mix of animals, landscaped parkland and gardens appealing to all ages. Many of the animals are rare and endangered, visitors can walk through the Madagascar enclosure with freeroaming lemurs and see meerkats, penguins and tropical birds in the exotically landscaped Walled Gardens. This is particularly colourful mid to late summer. Elsewhere as visitors meander around the Park, amongst the animals to be seen are rhinos, lions, giraffes and, for the first time at the Park, anteaters. Indoor exhibits include the Reptile House, Farmyard Barn, Invertebrate House and Tropical House. Then it is onto the nearby National Trust property of Polesden Lacey. This country retreat with glorious views across the rolling Surrey Hills and acres of countryside waiting to be explored was home to famous Edwardian hostess Mrs Greville who entertained royalty and celebrities of her time. The house has stunning interiors and contains Mrs Greville s collection of art and ceramics The beautiful gardens have something for every season. Farmers brought their geese for sale, and drove them through the streets to the Market. In 2018, the museum will be marking the end of the centenary of the First World War with a special season of programming including the Weeping Window display a cascade comprising of several thousand handmade poppies.
