Dear Customer, Welcome to our Summer Leisure Days for 2018. We have enjoyed putting this brochure together and we think you will agree there are some exciting new excursions. We have also kept in the old favourites which are always well received. We are looking forward to you joining us for some wonderful days out. Don t forget your children or grandchildren, we have many excursions during the summer school holidays, and no, we do not put our prices up in the holidays! We have included our usual trips to the seaside. These are ideal for a family outing as the coach will drop you right at a central location and pick you up from the same spot. Pushchairs and picnic baskets can be placed in the luggage compartment so you do not have to carry them far. Don t forget our group discounts. For organisers of groups of 10 or more, please contact us for our competitive group discounts. Please remember to book early to guarantee a place on your chosen excursion. Seats are allocated on a first come, first served basis and if you prefer a particular seat location then you are advised not to wait too long to book. SUNDAY 8TH JULY / HAMPTON COURT FLOWER SHOW Experience the world s largest annual flower show in the setting of the historic palace at the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show. Explore innovative show gardens and snap a picture of the stunning flower displays. Watch demonstrations by both celebrity gardeners and chefs around the showgrounds. In the afternoon we continue to Bognor Regis; a traditional seaside town with stunning parks and gardens where you can sit and enjoy the sights and sounds of everything going on. On average Bognor Regis has more sunshine than any other town in Britain! 08.15 07.15 19.95 15.95 A SATURDAY 21ST JULY / BRISTOL HARBOUR FESTIVAL Bristol s biggest and best free festival is back taking over the city s waterfront. Held in the City of Bristol since 1971 the Harbour festival celebrates the city s martime heritage and the importance of the docks and harbour. The Harbour Festival has a variety of entertainment from dance acts, street performances, interactive theatre, international circus acts, a mix of muscians plus a variety of other entertainment and good food and drink. The main attractions are designed to engage all of the communities of Bristol as well as entertain the thousands of visitors to the city. THURSDAY 26TH JULY POOLE Poole boasts Europe s largest natural harbour, providing a stunning location for all types of water sport. The bustling Quay is a great place to sit back and watch fishermen unloading their catch and millionaire s yachts arriving back home. FRIDAY 27TH JULY / WORLD OF COUNTRY LIFE & EXMOUTH It s not everyday you can hand feed a deer or llama, walk a pygmy goat or bottle feed a lamb but you can do all of this and more at the award winning World of Country Life in Exmouth. You will never forget the hilarious animal racing events Lamb National, Quacky Races or Total Ferret Wipeout and the amazing flying displays by Hawkridge Birds of Prey all add to the fun. Take a walk back in time down memory lane and explore the Victorian street, call in at the Game Keeper s Cottage or drop into the dress shop, stop off at the garage or pop into the pub - all featuring memorabilia from years gone by. The country s most inland port, the city has seen unprecedented regeneration in the last decade, most visibly at the city s historic docks. Then it is on to Westbury Court Garden, originally laid out between 1696 and 1705 this is the only restored Dutch water garden in the country. There are canals, clipped hedges. working 17th century vegetable plots and many old varieties of fruit trees. With a dedicated cheese market featuring quality cheese producers from all over the country. Entertainment is the life and soul of the festival with live music acts, choirs and dancers. Caerphilly Castle is transformed into a medieval encampment with re-enactment displays and battles. See what medieval life was like within the Castle walls and watch the villagers as they go about their daily tasks. A huge funfair is open throughout the festival along with many craft stalls lining the Castle s moat. TUESDAY 31ST JULY HOUSE OF MARBLES & TRAGO MILLS Based on an historic site of pottery making, the House of Marbles produce quality vintage and traditional toys and games. You will be entertained for hours by the wonderful array of marble runs, animated animals, fairground mirrors, penny press and a giant floating marble. You can tour the site s historic trail with museums of glass, games, marbles, and Bovey Pottery as well as the listed kilns. Then onto Trago Mills, at Newton Abbot. TUESDAY 21ST AUGUST BBC BRISTOL STUDIOS TOUR Now in its 80th year, BBC Bristol, the regional television centre for the West of England, sits amongst the pretty Georgian buildings of Whiteladies Road. The BBC Natural History Unit also based here, is seen as a world leader as producer and broadcaster of Natural History content, creating programmes like Frozen Planet, Africa and Planet Earth. During the tour you ll hear how TV and radio programmes are and have been made here as well as have a go at presenting the news and weather and star in your own radio drama. PAYMENT AND CANCELLATION INFORMATION Payment Policy Due to the popularity of our day excursions, and to avoid disappointment to customers on waiting lists, we would appreciate it if all excursions are paid in full no later than 28 days before the excursion date. This will ensure that all seats held as an option that have not been paid for can be released for re-sale to people on the waiting lists. The cancellation charge will vary according to when the excursion is cancelled. The chart below shows you the cancellation charges that will be due should you cancel your trip.
