Website: www.teentime.ab.ca About Makewin Lodge Rentals Makewin Lodge is operated by Teen Time of Edmonton. Teen Time of Edmonton is a non-denominational, non-profit Christian organization. Makewin Lodge is located an hour and a half north of Edmonton on Elbow Lake and is open year round. There is 400 acres of land with a unique and relaxing ranch feel. The objectives of Makewin Lodge and the camp facility are to provide opportunities for young people to experience physical, social, emotional and spiritual development as well as a safe place for people to come and get away.
Rental Facilities Day Use & Overnight Facilities Makewin Lodge Dining hall, kitchen, fireplace area, washroom facilities, recreation room, dorm style rooms. Chapel Large open area with benches, stage, piano, organ, pulpit, sound system. Overnight Facilities Makewin Lodge There are 7 rooms upstairs and 7 rooms downstairs. Each room sleeps 4 people. Washrooms and shower facilities upstairs and downstairs. Duplex Cabins - These units offer a private bathroom, kitchenette plus queen sized bed. They are heated in winter. Cabins There are 11 cabins that are insulated but no furnace that sleep 12 people. Group Activities From September to June, Makewin Lodge is available for rentals for school and church groups, boys and girls clubs, business weekends, banquets, weddings, crafting retreat etc. Makewin Lodge has many activities available for use during a groups stay. Cross Country Skiing Snow Shoeing Field Sports Campfires Activity Descriptions Horseback riding Take a ride through our trails on horseback and enjoy the scenery. Qualified wranglers will guide you on your ride. Hay/Sleigh Rides Enjoy a scenic tour on our wagon or sleigh pulled by our beautiful draft horses. Canoeing Take a nice relaxing canoe ride on our very clean lake. Check out the wildlife or even do some fishing while you take time canoe on the lake. Archery Test yourself by taking aim at our targets with our bows and arrows. Nature Trail Go for an exhilarating walk through our forests and see wildlife up close. Paintball Enjoy time with friends while testing your ability to strategize and outwit your enemies on our many paintball fields. Swimming Go for a quick dip in our very clean lake. Jump of the floating raft or relax in the swimming area. Cross Country Skiing Ski across the lake or through the trails in the forest and enjoy a great workout. Snow Shoeing Try your hand at walking on snow and having some fun. Field Sports Use our large field for games such as soccer, football and many other games.
Campfires Hang out at the beach while sitting by a fire roasting hotdogs or marshmallows looking across the lake. - No pocket knives - Computers and Electronic games not recommended Scheduling Information Welcome to Makewin Lodge rentals. We really appreciate you choosing to rent with us and we trust that your time with us will be relaxing and enjoyable. If there is anything that you need or something that would make you stay more enjoyable please let our host know what you need and we will be happy to help you out. In order for you time with us to be a smooth and enjoyable as possible we have a few guidelines regarding some of our activities so you can plan your time when you are here. Horseback Riding: - Rides are available between 9 am and 5 pm Monday to Saturday. Rides are not available on Sunday. - A minimum of 6 and a maximum of 12 riders in a group. - Pants should be worn as well as boots with a heel for riding. - One hour will be the length of each ride. Hayrides/Sleighrides: - Hayrides/Sleighrides are available between 9 am and 9 pm Monday to Saturday. Archery/Canoeing: - Archery/Canoeing will be available between 9 am and 5 pm Monday to Saturday. General - You will be able to come to the lodge at 4 pm on the designated day. You may come earlier if you talk to the Executive Director to make sure that it is ok. - Please plan to leave the lodge by 2 pm on the designated day. If you would like to stay longer you must get approval from the Executive Director. - Groups are responsible to bring their own first aid kit and first aid person.
- Our facilities are smoke free. If you need to smoke please smoke in the areas that the host says is ok. - Alcohol is permitted upon approval of the Executive Director and you will be required to pay a larger damage deposit. Facility Rules WE AGREE TO AND UNDERSTAND THE FOLLOWING REGULATIONS 1. No smoking in any of the buildings. Please smoke in designated areas. 2. Alcohol is permitted with the permission from the Executive Director and will the proper damage deposit. 3. Please do not leave trash laying around outside. 4. Do not enter any rooms designated Staff Only. 5. Do not cross the road to the barn without permission from the Head Wrangler or if you are scheduled to be riding the horses. 6. Please do not eat any food that is not yours. You are welcome to use the salt and pepper and condiments but any other food is not available. 7. Please do not take any food or drink into any of the dorm rooms. 8. Do not fix anything that gets broken. Inform the Host and he/she will take the necessary steps in fixing it. 9. When leaving please set all thermostats to 15ºC and double check that all exterior doors and windows are closed. 10. Make sure that you have cleaned the lodge before you leave. If you do not clean up then you will be charged for someone to clean for you. 11. Put all garbage in green shack south of kitchen steps Enjoy your time here and have fun.
Clean up Requirements Makewin Lodge Rentals would like to do everything to help keep costs down for all groups and one way that we can do that is by having your group clean up after your stay. Here are the cleaning requirements for the designated areas: Kitchen - Wipe down and clean stove/ovens - Bleach stainless steel counters - Turn off dishwasher and drain; please turn off dishwasher when not in use - Make sure fridge door is shut and lights are off - Please sweep and mop floor - Double check that all lights and stoves are off - Food removed from cooler - Dishes and utensils put back in proper places - Sinks cleaned - Dish carts cleaned and put back in dining hall - Empty trash cans Dining Room - Clean off and wipe off tables - Place chairs on tables and return them to their original positions - Sweep and mop the dining hall - Clean and wipe the coffee area - Empty trash cans Recreation Room - Vacuum, sweep and return couches and tables to their original order - Empty trash cans Boot Room - Sweep floor and vacuum mats Bathroom - Clean toilets - Wipe down shower walls - Wipe down counter and sinks - Clean mirrors - Sweep and mop the floors - Empty trash cans Dorm Rooms or Cabins - Vacuum/sweep dorm room or cabins - Empty garbages - Vacuum/sweep hallways - Mattresses stood up in bunk beds Cleaning Supplies
- Vacuums are located upstairs in corner cupboard by dish room entrance and downstairs in cupboard inside the amphitheater by the double doors - Bathroom cleaning supplies are under bathroom counter - Mops and brooms in dish room and laundry room - Rags and towels are in dish room - Grill and oven cleaners under sink in kitchen *Full garbage bags belong under the stairs in front of the kitchen. Weddings are not included in the Day rentals. The group is responsible to bring their own food. Makewin Lodge: $250 for the day. Includes use of the kitchen, recreation room, dining room and washrooms. Chapel: $50 for the day. Activities The following activities are available from 9 am to sunset (Allow for lunch and supper breaks for our staff) Horseback riding: Hayrides: Archery: Canoeing: Paintball: Swimming: $15/person a ride. Makewin Lodge and Cabins: Groups of 10-14 people cost is $50/person/night Groups of 15-19 people cost is $40/person/night Groups of 20+ cost is $30/person/night Includes use of the kitchen, recreation room, dining room and washrooms. Wedding packages include packages for 1 day, 2 days or 3 days. One day The cost for 1 day to have a wedding is $1000 for the day. This includes use of the Kitchen, Dining room, Recreation Room, Chapel, all Washroom facilities and the sound system. Check in time will be at 8 am and check out time will be 2 am. You will be responsible for cleaning before you leave. Two Day The cost for a 2 day wedding package is $2000. This includes use of the Kitchen, Dining room, Recreation room, Chapel, all Washroom facilities, dorm rooms, cabins, one duplex and the sound system. The cost is $75/night for any extra duplexes. Check in time will be 12 pm and check out time will be 2 am the following day. You will be responsible to have the facilities cleaned before you leave. Three Day The cost for a 3 day wedding package is $4000. This includes use of the Kitchen, Dining room, Recreation room, Chapel, all Washroom facilities, dorm rooms, cabins, one duplex and the sound system. The cost is $75/night for any extra duplexes. Check in time will be 12 pm and check out time will be 2 pm on the final day. You will be responsible to have the facilities cleaned before you leave. Makewin Lodge does not provide food for the weddings however we know people who run catering businesses so if you are in need of a caterer you can contact us and we will give you their names. We also know people who do flowers and photography for weddings. Please contact if you are in need of their services.
