ACCESS There are daily flights from O.R. Tambo International Airport (JNB) to Skukuza (SKZ) airfield with a flight time of approximately h0min. WEATHER The average mean rainfall for the year is 50mm, with most rainfall occurring during mid-summer (vember - February). The rainfall generally occurs in the form of thunderstorms where a downpour is experienced, very seldom lasting longer than a few hours. The mean average maximum temperatures range from.5 C/7 F in July to.5 C/88.7 F in January with the mean monthly minimum occurring in July at a temperature of 8.5 C/7.5 F. Another option is to fly into the regional airport, Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMIA/MQP) which is serviced by commercial scheduled flights from Durban, Cape Town and Johannesburg and then take a road transfer into the reserve. The road transfer is approximately hours. The driving time from Johannesburg is approximately.5 to 5 hours but we suggest if you are driving that you spend a night, en-route, along the Panorama route at any of the several mountain or country lodges in this area ensuring you arrive fresh and ready for an incredible safari experience.
