Programme of the Summer School Since the participants of the last two Summer Schools were students from the University of Gdansk (Poland), the main topic of this year s School will be Croats and the Poles through centuries. Courses are diversified, tailored to the interests of foreign students studying Croatian and Slavic Languages. Croatian language courses will be organized for two groups of participants simultaneously, according to their knowledge. If necessary, a begginer s cource will be organized. Theatre Workshop will be organized every evening. Location of the Summer School Location of the Summer School Pirovac is a municipal centre and, next to Primosten, Vodice and Murter, the most important municipal tourist centre of the Sibenik riviera. It is situated in Pirovac Bay and by the Adriatic Tourist Road it is well connected with cultural and historical centres, such as Sibenik (23 kilometres away), Zadar (48 km), Trogir and Split (108 km). Mild climate, well-indented coast, numerous coves and sandy beaches, vegetation, pine forests and centenary olive-groves, clean and warm sea are some of many gifts of nature that Pirovac has. Pirovac is very near to National Park Kornati and National Park Krka and it's only 5 kilometres away from the Vrana Lake Nature Park ( Vransko jezero ). It belonged to the noblemen from Bribir the Subic family and later it became the property of the Sibenik Diocese and some noblemen from Sibenik. The defence wall was built around 1505 by Petar Draganic, has been partly preserved in the village. The parish church of St. George from 1506 was restored in Baroque style in the 18th century. There is also the graveyard chapel of the Draganic-Vrancic family which features a Gothic sarcophagus with a relief made in 1447 according to the sketches by Juraj Dalmatinac (George the Dalmatian). At the western entrance of Pirovac Bay is the island of St Stjepan, called Sustipanac, that still preserves the remnants of an old convent and small church given to the Franciscans in 1511 which was abandoned in 1807. Roman artefacts have been found there as well.

Accommodation Participants are placed in 6 bedrooms in the Proni Traning Centre (Don Balda Vijalića 11). The Center is completely equipped for the accommodation of participants. There is a kitchen (at disposal to participants), dining room, two bathrooms, sitting room with TV and WI-FI. There is outside shower, space for sitting and parking place for 4 cars in the yard.
