THIS EVENT IS TO BE HELD ON SUNDAY 5 MAY 2013 AT THE CHILDERS AIR STRIP

GAYLENE S PREAMBLE The months are flying by ever so quickly. Easter has been and gone and I sure hope you didn t eat too many chocolates! I have been extremely strong-willed and have only succumbed to eating one small Easter egg. Bob flew in from Mt Isa on Easter Saturday for a 2 week break and has been busy working on his list of chores that have manifested whilst he has been away. At long last it appears that the rain has finally bypassed us all in Bundaberg. It is so good to see the sun shining brightly after all this time and that the birds are happily chirping again. Please note that there have been a couple of changes to the Calendar of Events for 2013. Our advertised trip to Hervey Bay on the 21 April has now been changed to the 28 APRIL 2013. The Bay Cruise has also been changed due to the fact that we required 20 people to attend and unfortunately we were unable to get that many people. We will now be having Morning Tea at Teddington Weir and lunch will be held at John Carroll s for a BYO Barbeque. We now have a correct date for the Isis Flying Club Event which is to be held at the Childers Air Strip. This date is now Sunday the 5 May 2013. GAYLENE S CAR OF THE MONTH SECTION THIS IS THE ENGINE OF PETER CARLSON S E TYPE IT IS SO SPOTLESSLY CLEAN YOU COULD EVEN EAT OFF IT! HOW DOES HE KEEP IT THAT CLEAN??

WHAT S BEEN HAPPENING? We were to have two outings in March, but because of lack of numbers due to ill health, people being away and the weather still being a little fickle, the Mid- Week Run on the 27 March was cancelled. Our trip to Biggenden on the 17 March still went ahead as planned. Biggenden 17 March Eight keen members rolled up to the park in Childers for morning tea at 10.00 a.m. Luckily the sky was a beautiful blue with very little cloud, so Irene and I made the most of the nice weather and the greenery in the background by taking lots of photos of the Jaguars, and of course also the members who were in attendance. IRENE BUSY TAKING PHOTOS WITH THE JAGUARS IN THE BACKGROUND BILL, LEE AND ROBYN WHAT HAS CAUGHT THEIR ATTENTION!!! BRIAN AND JILL TIME TO RELAX AT LAST!

Joker Raffle After morning tea it was once again time for the Joker Raffle. The lucky person to be chosen this time was Jill. She very kindly let Brian cut the deck, but this was to no avail. The joker still remains very elusive. The jackpot is now $45.50. After the raffle had been drawn we said our goodbyes to Robyn and headed off in convoy to Biggenden. Unfortunately we were unable to venture into Alan Cunningham s Museum as that weekend he was away at Maleny for a Bike Swap Meet, so we drove straight to the Grand Hotel where we had booked a table for lunch. Peter Carlson from the Sunshine Coast Register met us at the hotel and as always it was lovely to see him. THE GRAND HOTEL AT BIGGENDEN IT COULD SURE USE A LICK OF PAINT!!! NOT QUITE SO GRAND ANYMORE!!! The Grand Hotel could do with a bit of a makeover both inside and out, but it was still nice to just sit and relax and have a good old chat. I wouldn t rave over the main meals but the desserts sure looked good very healthy looking NOT!! POSSUM S HEALTHY LOOKING CHEESECAKE? LOOKS LIKE POSSUM IS MORE INTERESTED IN THE CAR RACING ON THE TELEVISION BUT IRENE LOOKS LIKE SHE IS ENJOYING HERS!!

BRIAN AND JILL S E TYPE AND POSSUM AND IRENE S XJ40 PETER S E TYPE BILL AND LEE S XJ6 Ser 3 PETER AND LEE DEEP IN THOUGHT JILL, BRIAN AND BILL WHICH ONE S ENGROSSED IN THE CAR RACING ON THE TELLY?

Around the Traps Very sadly in January 2013, Peter Carlson s Dad passed away. We wish you and your family, Peter, our sincere condolences. WHAT S COMING UP? 28 April This will entail a trip to Teddington Weir and then back to Hervey Bay where we will have a BYO Barbeque Lunch at John s place at Craignish. 5 May This is the Isis Flying Club s Event which is to be held at the Air Strip in Childers. STILL ANOTHER REQUEST FROM GAYLENE I still have a request for people to send me pictures of their Jaguars that have been taken either at home or on holidays. Please email them to me.
