Students must be at school no later than 7.45am for an 8.30 departure. Class signs will be displayed outside the canteen/gym area for students to report to their teachers and mark their names off the roll. Once this has been done, overnight bags can be loaded onto the bus. Students pillows and day packs can go on the bus with them. Prior to departure, all medication must be given to Sarah Nobbs who will be in the gym foyer. Please make sure it is clearly labelled with dosage instructions. A snack, drink and lunch must be provided on the first day. The bus ride should take approximately 3 hours with a stop at Mansfield.

All the activities at Camp Howqua promote team building skills, confidence and fun! Students will be supported by qualified instructors and encouraged to challenge themselves, however, should they feel they cannot complete an activity this will be respected. Activities during the week include: Flying Fox Horse Riding Survivor Challenge : (students must bring clothes that can get very muddy and wet for this activity. Please provide lots of extra plastic bags for wet and muddy clothes! We recommend students don t wear wetsuits as they will be hard to run in, clean and dry out.) High and Low Ropes Mountain Bike Riding Orienteering Fishing Archery

Camp Howqua provides substantial, healthy meals and is a nut free camp. Breakfast options cereal, toast, bacon, spaghetti and baked beans Lunch examples :wraps, rolls and a BBQ Dinner examples: chicken schnitzel, lamb roast, pasta, vegetables and salad Morning tea and afternoon tea will be provided each day fruit, biscuits and slice It is extremely important students bring a named water bottle as they will be active and outdoors for the majority of the week. Water will be readily available!
Whilst there are a large number of Williamstown Year 5 and 6 students attending Camp Howqua, your child will be closely supported, mentored and supervised throughout the week. Each cabin group will have an adult responsible for checking in with them morning and night, ensuring rooms are kept clean and students are settled during the evening. All activity groups will have at least one adult supervising them during the week and groups will not exceed 13 children. Students will all come together at the same time for breakfast, lunch and dinner. This is a great opportunity to share stories, celebrate successes and touch base with each other. Melissa Bull and Sarah Nobbs will be the First Aid trained teachers in charge. If any medical condition concerning your child should arise, you will be notified promptly.
