Olympus. Late return available. ***CAMP SHALOM FAMILIES*** Please take a look at the bus schedule at the end of this newsletter. It indicates the bus times for pick up the morning of July 28. Drop off bus times will be as usual that Thursday afternoon for Aleph and Bet campers, as well as Noar-Bogrim campers who will be returning from their overnight! RAFFLE PRIZES NEEDED! The Camp Shalom raffle is on Wednesday, 7/27 during the second session latenight program. We are still collecting prizes. This year, the challah that we are serving at Camp on Fridays is not certified Kosher. If you do not want your camper to eat this challah please contact the Camp office. Thank you.
Shalom Camp Families, Camp Shalom We had a great second week of camp! Some highlights included the Boulder s Climbing Wall, a magician, and the extra loud ruach (spirit) at Maccabia! We also worked hard to stay cool on those extra hot days by playing water games, swimming lots, and watching a movie. We can t wait to continue this momentum into our final week! Just a reminder there will be NO buses in the afternoon on Wednesday, July 27 h. Please refer to the latenight bus schedule for updated pick-up times the morning of Thursday, July 28 th. Gimel campers do NOT have camp on Thursday, July 28 th since they have the option to sleep over on Wednesday. They will go home on the buses Thursday morning and be dropped off at their normal stops, as Aleph and Bet campers are getting picked up. Gimel campers should bring the following: a sleeping bag, pillow, PJs, an extra change of clothes, swimsuit and towel, flashlight, toothbrush, toothpaste, and other toiletries they wish to have. Please NO snacks! Breakfast will be provided in the morning. If your camper needs to take medication before bed or in the morning, please send the medication in the original packaging with an Authorization form, which can be found on our website. Aleph and Bet campers will have a special day participating in fun Olympics themed activities on Thursday. Normal bus drop-off times resume in the afternoon. It s hard to believe second session is coming to an end. We ve had an amazing time this summer, and will cherish the friendships and memories we have made. Food Carts at Camp Shalom Late-night: You asked, we answered! We have reached out to a few local food carts and restaurants and asked them to join us at the Camp Shalom latenight program on Wednesday, July 27 th. Rosati s Pizza will be sold by the slice; we will offer vegetable and cheese options Kona Ice Truck will be selling shaved ice Pots & Tots will be selling tater tots Gigi s Cupcakes will be selling cupcakes Taquitos Marimar will be selling taquitos dzi Little Tibet will be selling authentic Tibetan cuisine **Please note all businesses are accepting CASH only** All of the businesses have agreed to donate a portion of their proceeds to the Camp Shalom Scholarship Fund. So, bring your dinner and buy dessert, or bring dessert and buy your dinner. Or bring both and get a shaved ice as a beverage. No matter what you choose, you can t lose! Thank you to all the individuals, Camp Shalom families, and businesses that donated to the Camp Shalom Scholarship Fund. For the summer of 2016, over $105,000 was awarded to 194 campers so they could attend camp. Camp Shalom continues its tradition of never denying a child a Camp Shalom experience because of financial need. Thank you! The Camp Shalom buses will have a basket or bag where you can place donations. We are collecting donations each week in the following categories. So set aside your new or gently used donations, your trash is our treasure! Week One: Gardening equipment and accessories; Photography equipment including Cameras, old phones with working cameras, any other photography accessories Week Two: Office supplies including pens, paper, index cards, tape, paper clips, staplers; Camping equipment and accessories including tents, sleeping bag, tarps etc. WeekThree: Sports Equipment: especially tennis and baseball equipment ; Kitchen Equipment- not knives! Attention Camp Shalom Families: The Camp Shalom late night will be on Wednesday, July 27th. Families are invited to bring a picnic dinner and join their camper(s) at 5:45 PM. Camp Shalom does not provide bus service in the afternoon on Wednesday, July 27th. If your camper is not staying for the late night program you will need to make arrangements to pick your camper up at the Goodman Campus no later than 5:45 PM. Please let us know ahead of time. There will be a camp performance after dinner that will end by 7:30 PM. Gimel (4 th and 5 th grade) campers are invited to stay for an overnight.
