Key Assets of the Aviation Complex Runways Two 8,000 foot (2,438 meters) runways, 200 feet (60.96 meters) wide, with over 103 acres of taxiways and apron space. The condition of the runways has been rated excellent. The runways at NASB are long and wide enough to accommodate most civilian aircraft. Airforce 1 has landed here several times. (17,132 sq m) 267 x 521 x 57 (81.38mX158.8mX17.37m) Door height: 40 feet (12.19m) Current Uses: The hangar deck is capable of accommodating two aircraft. Aircraft maintenance is on the first floor with administrative offices located on the second floor. The facility was constructed as part of the original base development in the 1940s. Attached to Hangar 4 is the base headquarters, located in Building #250, which contains approximately 90,000 square feet of shop and administration space. The office facility currently houses administration, command staff, and IT/data processing. Hangar 5 (1982) 163,454 Sq. Ft. (15,186 sq m) 866 x 194 x 57 (263.96mX59.13mX17.37m) Door height: 44 feet (13.41m) Current Uses: Hangar 5 contains seven bays used for aircraft maintenance. Support and administration (for up to 850 people) in two wings with three hangars each. One shared corrosion control bay, staff support, locker rooms, training rooms, maintenance shops. Maintenance shops are located on the ground floor with administrative space located on the second floor. Hangar 6 (2005) 166,335 Sq. Ft. (15,453 sq m) 870 x 205 x 97 (265.96mX62.48mX29.57m Door height: 47 feet (14.33m) Current Uses: Hangar 6 is the newest of the base s hangar facilities, having opened in January 2005 and contains six aircraft bays capable of handling both the existing P-3 aircraft as well as the new B-737-800 MMA aircraft, fully equipped maintenance shops and administration space. 7

Brunswick Business Incentives A number of business incentives for new, relocating and existing businesses are offered by the midcoast community and the State of Maine. Pine Tree Redevelopment Zones (PTZ) - Tax rebate and reimbursement program offered by the State. Created in 2006, the PTZ includes approximately 1,000 acres at Brunswick Landing. Redevelopment in the PTZ reduces the tax burden for qualified businesses through a variety of exemptions, reimbursements and credits: Corporate Income Tax Credit Qualified companies will receive a 100% Maine State corporate income tax exemption for years 1-5 of their Maine based operation. Qualified companies will receive a 50% Maine State corporate income tax exemption for years 6-10 of their Maine based operation. Insurance Tax Credit - Qualified companies will receive a 100% tax credit benefit on insurance premiums for up to five years. Sales and Use Tax Exemption Qualified companies will receive a 100% State of Maine sales tax exemption on all equipment and building supplies for years 1-10 of their Maine based operation. Employment Tax Increment Financing Qualified companies will be reimbursed 80% of a qualified employee s personal state income tax obligation. For example, if an employee s State personal income tax obligation for a year is $2000, the State will return $1,600 to the company. If a company has ten similar employees, the company will receive $16,000. Employment Wage Subsidy and Training Funds - Employers can qualify for up to 12 weeks of new hire wage reimbursement at 50% of wages, plus training and education subsidies. Maine Apprenticeship Program - Maine works together with employers to cover the costs of customized, on-the-job training and classroom programs aimed at providing employees with professional credentials. Foreign Trade Zone - The Brunswick Landing will be a designated a Foreign Trade Zone. New Market Tax Credit (NMTC) - A federal program that benefits companies locating to Brunswick Landing.
