We recently asked parents to describe the experiences they had at Comeca, Camp Fontanelle, and Norwesca as children and youth in one word. What did they say? Faith. Friendship. Leadership. Worship. Play. Community. Laughter. Prayer. Creation. Growth. Love. And of course, fun! Even years later, time spent at one of our Nebraska United Methodist Camps is a memory never forgotten. More importantly, camp is formative in the faith journeys of the children, youth, and adults we see every summer. At camp, we learn what it means to be a friend. At camp, we learn to lead. At camp, we learn that we are infinitely valuable to the creator of the universe. There is one more word that comes to mind when we think of camp: Safety. American Camp Association accreditation is a mark of distinction and we are proud to follow the best practices outlined by ACA in every area of our operation. The care of each camper is at the center of everything we do at camp. Our staff are faith-filled people who are enthusiastic about serving others and are selected for their maturity, patience, spiritual depth, and ability to work with kids. They are carefully screened and participate in professional and in-depth training prior to the camp season, including Safe Sanctuaries, basic first aid and CPR, and activity-specific training and certifications. Faith. Friendship. Fun. Safety. These cornerstones of Christian camping have been our commitment for over five decades. All persons are welcome at our camps. Join us for a wonderful journey of playing, s mores and singing around the campfire, team building, great food, hiking, meeting new friends, the super slide, exploring the Ponderosa forest on a hay rack ride, swimming at Chadron St. Park, archery, cabin life in community, sleeping under the stars, amazing counselors, and so much more all in the midst of God s beautiful creation. Camp Norwesca is truly a unique setting and a destination for you to experience growth in your relationships with God and one another! We ll see you at Camp! Located near Fontanelle, NE Camp Fontanelle is... laughing with new friends around the campfire, swimming in the outdoor pool, playing in the open fields, going on a night hike and eating s mores. Camp Fontanelle is... hiking up to Christmas Tree Hill and being surrounded by hundreds of trees and spotting a deer or two. Camp Fontanelle is learning how to make homemade ice cream and how to shoot arrows in archery. Camp Fontanelle is falling asleep in the A-frames or treeboats to the singing of the crickets and frogs, and waking up to the songs of the birds. Camp Fontanelle is riding horses, swinging in trees with climbing gear, and tubing the Elkhorn River. Camp Fontanelle is... knowing that YOU too are a part of God s creation. Camp Fontanelle is a BLAST! Located near Cozad, NE Every summer, campers come to Comeca for fun, fellowship, and friendship! Whether you are diving into a pool, scaling our climbing wall, or spending your first overnight at camp you will be encouraged and challenged in community. We ll share excitement and adventure together as we spend time on the lake, in the canyon, and hiking to campfire at the cross, too. Our program assistants are some of the coolest people you will ever meet. Oh, and did we mention the food? It s beyond your expectations good tasting and lots of it.
