Box 37724 Shreveport, LA 71133 F R O M T H E P R E S I D E N T S D E S K Summer is here, and our annual Mustang and Ford show is just 4 months away. It s time to start preparing for the show by sending out beg letters and also collecting door prizes and goody bag stuffers. For the new members we have welcomed to the club, every year we have our annual Mustang show at Wray Ford with the net proceeds going to various child services charities in Shreveport and Bossier City. In order to keep costs down, we rely on club members to donate or get businesses they may use or have a relationship with to donate door prizes. Door prizes can be just about anything, not necessarily car related. If it is something you would like to have, get two one for yourself and donate one. We have had all kinds of door prizes in the past, grills, purses, outdoor portable chairs, tools, cleaning supplies, ramps, jacks, anything you can think of we have given away. We are also looking for little things to put in our goody bags we give away each year. The goody bags are usually full of advertisement fliers, pens, pencils magnets, advertisement type things from different businesses across the Ark La Tex. If you own a business, or know someone who might want to donate some goody bag stuffers, we will need a minimum of 100 of whatever they want to donate because we guarantee 100 goody bags to the first 100 entrants at our show. In the past we have had used decks of playing cards from the casinos, electrical tape, tire pressure gauges, magnets of all sorts, cozies, hand sanitizer, pretty much anything goes, as long as we have at least 100 items to put in the goody bags. In addition to goody bag stuffers and door prizes, we will also need plenty of volunteers the day of the show. We will need help with parking, registering cars, selling raffle tickets, handing out door prizes\goody bags, and t shirts. Setting up the show first thing in the morning is another thing we need help with, unloading the truck, setting up tables and getting everything ready for registration. Tradition dictates we meet for breakfast at 6am at Southfield Grill on Benton Road in Bossier city, then cruise up to Wray at 7am to set up. We will also need help judging the many cars at the show. We don't do crazy serial number matching judging, we just judge based on cleanliness and care the owner has taken with his vehicle. In other words, anyone can judge. You just need a little basic knowledge of cars in general, and a little common sense. We always have volunteers from the Corvette and Mopar club come out to judge since we help them out at their shows in the spring. We always need help with judging. Finally, it is break down and clean up. We have gotten quite good at this, breaking down the show and having everything packed up and ready to go in 30 minutes. It s just a matter of breaking down the registration tables, taking down the big canopy, and small pop

It is a long day, but the payoff is to see a wide variety of Mustangs and Fords that people bring to our show, not to mention the money we generate for our M C A N E W S Wow show season has started off great! So much going on nationally as well as locally. So much to choose from. Get out and enjoy the summer. Congratulations go out to Chris Ponder for another first place at the Tucson show. It's so great that a member of our club has done so well on the national level. Yours and Tina's hard work has paid off. So proud., Some of us will be going to the Shelby car show in Plano, Tx on June 9th. The show is on Saturday the 10th. There's no cost for registration. It's really just a fun day to go out and meet other Shelby owners. Plus you get to see great cars. To register: LegacyTexas.com/Shelbycarshow. Show 10-2pm. Hotel: Courtyard Marriott $89 charities. It s a great time every year. We always have good food, some kind of sweet treat for cooling off, and of course Ronnie Causey will be there spinning CD's and providing his one of a kind entertainment throughout the day. Who knows, you may find your new 2018 mustang right there on the lot! You don't want to miss out. 4901 W. Plano Parkway at Preston Rd. Plano TX. The following weekend I'll be heading out to Tulsa for the Shelby show. Besides seeing my family that weekend, I'll be working the MCA membership booth. With the passing of George Valeri, the task is at hand to get coverage for the things that he had scheduled. He's been missed a lot. Don't forget that our show is coming up fast. Get your door prizes and goody bag stuffers in. See you on the road, Donna www.mustang.org
