Town of Montville s New Holiday Tree Generously donated by Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Rogers & Family Montville Parks and Recreation is happy to announce that a new live Holiday Tree has been planted in front of the Town Hall next to the flag poles. The 16 foot Norway Spruce tree was generously donated by Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Rogers and family. The tree will be decorated for the holiday season and ceremoniously lit following the Holiday Parade on December 2nd that begins at 5pm. While Jeff was visiting family over Columbus Day weekend in Pennsylvania, he spoke with the owners of Brown Tree Farm located in Muncy, PA. Mr. Rogers purchased and transported the tree back to Montville where the employees of Public Works planted it on Tuesday morning, October 9th. The top picture is the machine having taken it out of the ground and prepared it for being transported back to Montville. The middle picture is the staff strapping it down on Jeff s trailer for the ride home. The bottom picture is of the Public Works crew placing it perfectly in the hole they prepared for the tree. It will take about 20 gallons of water for a couple of weeks to get the roots established. Thank you to the Rogers family for this generous gift that will be enjoyed by all of Montville for decades to come. Be sure to come to the Holiday Parade and watch this beautiful tree decorated and lit up on December 2nd. At 5pm. Happy Holidays to all.

ANNUAL HOLIDAY PARADE Be sure to attend this year s Holiday Parade December 2nd to see the new decorations adorning the light poles along Route 32. These will be in addition to the wreaths and Welcome banners purchased last year. We have new lights on the Town Hall Building and of course the lighting of our new holiday tree that will take place immediately after the parade. The Town Council, Parks and Recreation and Public Works have purchased these new decorations and lights for the season. Come down to watch the parade, entertainment and see the lights. The parade will also feature dancers from the Parks and Recreation Dance Program performing from 4:30 5pm in the driveway leading to Town Hall followed by the Tyl Middle School Chorus singing from 5pm until the parade arrives at the entrance to Town Hall. Come down and sing along, cheer on and join all the festivities.

The Town of Montville s Annual Holiday Parade will be held on Sunday, December 2, 2018 @ 5 PM. The route begins near the Church and Allen business buildings and ends at Town Hall. Activities begin at 4:30 pm with dancers at the Town Hall entrance followed by Tyl Middle School Chorus singing as the parade kicks off at 5pm. Montville High School Chorus will perform in front of Town Hall immediately after the parade ends and of course the lighting of our new holiday tree. Any interested organizations or individuals wishing to participate in this year s parade will need to fill out an entry form; it s fun and free! You can obtain these forms at the Montville Parks & Recreation office. For your convenience simply download entry form today at www.townofmontville.org. Forms must be completed and returned to the Montville Parks & Recreation office by November 29, 2018 Montville Parks and Recreation Department The Montville Recreation Department offers a range or classes, programs and special events for the entire community.
