Town of Montville s New Holiday Tree Generously donated by Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Rogers & Family Montville Parks and Recreation is happy to announce that a new live Holiday Tree has been planted in front of the Town Hall next to the flag poles. The 16 foot Norway Spruce tree was generously donated by Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Rogers and family. The tree will be decorated for the holiday season and ceremoniously lit following the Holiday Parade on December 2nd that begins at 5pm. While Jeff was visiting family over Columbus Day weekend in Pennsylvania, he spoke with the owners of Brown Tree Farm located in Muncy, PA. Mr. Rogers purchased and transported the tree back to Montville where the employees of Public Works planted it on Tuesday morning, October 9th. The top picture is the machine having taken it out of the ground and prepared it for being transported back to Montville. The middle picture is the staff strapping it down on Jeff s trailer for the ride home. The bottom picture is of the Public Works crew placing it perfectly in the hole they prepared for the tree. It will take about 20 gallons of water for a couple of weeks to get the roots established. Thank you to the Rogers family for this generous gift that will be enjoyed by all of Montville for decades to come. Be sure to come to the Holiday Parade and watch this beautiful tree decorated and lit up on December 2nd. At 5pm. Happy Holidays to all.
