President s Corner By Tom Martin Another year behind us and things are looking good for 2017. Our BOD meetings will now be held every other month on the second Thursday. Bob and Judy Avery were generous host for our meeting place in the past but with Bob s new schedule he is out of town frequently and we find ourselves looking for a new home for our meetings. Our 1 st meeting of 2017 will be at Brian Martins hangar 569 at 7:00pm, Thursday, February 9th, and I am hoping you can attend. This winter weather has been all over the place but hopefully it will level out and we can enjoy our hobbies. Plans for seal coating and striping taxi ways as early as possible this year and another round of paving following soon after. We have some clean up projects planned that will be ongoing the next few months on taxi ways and grading a couple of septic fields to improve things to a better look. And as always a few reminders: Lots of dog walkers and it is a great place to do that however we are getting lots of complaints about not picking up the poop on other properties. For those on our community septic systems, our monthly maintenance on septic tanks appears that we need to conserve on the water usage to the fields. We need to get it under control or possibly study the implementation of a service charge to those fields that are being overused. Please consider the impact to our neighbors when working around the hangars. Recently a few taxi ways have been blocked by aircraft for various reasons and unfortunately a few speeding drivers residents and visitors need to be corrected. Any hangar modifications must be presented to the ACC and approved BEFORE work begins. Remember, this is your Airfield and your participation and voice needs to be heard at these meetings. No official minutes were taken as the board did not conduct business at this event. First meeting for the new Board will be held at 7pm on February 9, 2017, at hangar 569. 4
