Breakdown Details available at time of check-out. <a name="312"></a>] Cancellations and No Show Charges If you do not cancel your booking before the reservation date and time shown on your booking and fail to pick up your vehicle within 24 hours from that time, a non-cancellation fee will apply. For Namibian rentals a fee of NAD 399.00 will apply. For rentals occuring outside of Namibia the fee will be R399, 40, 70 CHF or the equivalent amount in the local currency. Vehicle availabilty in outlying areas are on request. Bookings for Luderitz, Otjiwarongo and Ondangwa need to be made 48 hours in advance. Collision Damage Waiver Renter is responsible for the full damage expenses to the Avis vehicle if the Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is not purchased or if the damages are caused by negligence or the conditions are unsuitable for the vehicle, or where no other vehicle was involved. CDW reduces the renters financial responsibility to the amount of the Non Waivable Excess (NWE) A claim administration fee of NAD 743.00 per accident will be charged, over and above the damage repair cost of applicable excess. Super CDW Purchase of Super CDW further reduces the renters financial responsibility. Super CDW is sold in addition to normal CDW. Cover not applicable on cash rentals. The renter is still liable for the full damage to the vehicle is caused by negligence, road conditions are not suitable, areas disallowed by Avis unless written permission is obtained, an unauthorised driver is driving the vehicle or where the renter is in breach of any of the provisions of the rental agreement. Addtional Collision Damage Waiver (ACDW) - 4X4 vehicles only Payment of ACDW which is purchased in addtion to CDW, cover 80% of the applicable responsibility for damge to the vehicle as a result of a collision which occurs on an untarred road or where no other vehicle animal or obect is involved in the collision. ACDW may only be purchased at the counter. The above charges are inclusive of vat. Cross Border Rentals No cross border rentals allowed in to Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia and Angola. Vehicles may not cross these borders even if returning to Namibia. All cross border rentals are subject to a fee of NAD 1760.00 (Incl vat). In the event that a customer takes the vehicle across the border and returns it to Nambia then this fee will apply. However, if the customer takes the vehicle across the border and drops it off in a neighbouring country, therefore, incurring one way fees, the cross border fee is not charged. The does not apply to Zimbabwe as no one way rentals are permitted. South Africa, Swaziland, Lesotho and Botswana A letter of authority for cross border rentals must be requested and obtained by the customer at the time of collection of the vehicle. If this in not obtained, Avis cannot be held responsible if the customer is refused entry to the country. Every vehicle going into one of the above-mentioned countries must have a 'NAM' sticker on the back of the vehicle. The customer is required to verify this before leaving the Avis location. Zimbabwe Prior application must be made 72 hours in advance and date of entry into and exit from Zimbabwe must be given. A letter of authority for cross border rentals must be requested and obtained by the customer at the time of collection of vehicle. Avis cannot be held responsible if the customer is refused entry when not in possession of the letter of authority. Cars can be rented in Namibia and must be returned to Namibia. Every vehicle going into Zimbabwe must have a 'NAM' sticker on the back of the vehicle. The customer is requested to verify the before leaving the Avis location. One way rentals are under no circumstances allowed into Zimbabwe.
Delivey and Collection Deliveries and collections during stations hours within a 25km radius of the rental stations on automatic confirmation will cost NAD 462.00 (Incl vat) For deliveries and collections further than 25km an additonal charge of NAD 14.00 per km (Incl vat) applies. After hours and public holidays within 25 km radius: Fee of NAD 836.00 (Incl vat) applies. (On request only) Drivers Licence Valid drivers licence of coutry of residence is required. An International Driving Permit is required fo licences in non-roman alphabet. Rule of the road: drive on the left hand side. Meet Late Arrival Available at all locations on request. An after hour check out fee of NAD 473.00 (Incl vat) will apply. Method of Payment Avis Namibia accepts Avis account, American Express, Diners, Visa and Mastercard. Debit cards and cash are not accepted. One Way Fees One way fees within Namibia: Windhoek to Ondangwa and vice versa NAD 3328.00 Windhoek to Walvis Bay and vice versa NAD 2662.00 Windhoek to Luderitz and vice versa NAD 3328.00 Windhoek to Otjiwarongo and vice versa NAD 1997.00 Windhoek to Swakopmund and vice versa NAD 2662.00 All the above fees include vat. For all other one way rentals between districts a one way fee of up to NAD 3328.00 (incl vat) will apply. Rentals to Oranjemund No specials permits are available at the Avis rental counter. Permits must be arranged in advance with the
authorities involved by the customer or through the travel agent or tour operator. One Way Cross Border Fees: South Africa, Lesotho and Swaziland NAD 8250.00 Botswana NAD 7150.00 All the above fees include vat. One way cross border rentals are not permitted to Mozambique and Zimbabwe. For rentals originating in Namibia and driven into South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho and Swaziland and Zimbabwe the conditions of CDW and TLW of the country entered apply. Additional Spare Tyre Automatic Confirmation with 72 hour advanced reservation. NAD 83.00 (incl vat) per day. A deposit of NAD 2563.00 (incl vat) will be held on the customers credit card. GPS Automated confirmation with 24 hour advanced reservation NAD 109.00 (incl vat) per day. GPS is currently only availablein Windhoek, Walvis Bay and Swakopmund. Surcharges Environment Contract Fee (VRF) of NAD 165.00 (incl vat) applicable to all rentals. Airport surcharge: 9 % (taxable). Applicable only at Windhoek Hosea Kutako Airport and Walvis Bay Rooikop Airport. In the event of an accident, an administration fee of NAD 743.00 (incl vat) over and excess will be charged. In the event that a customer receives a traffic fine, an administration fee of NAD 325.00 (incl vat) will be charged over and above the traffic fine. (This will be charged per fine.) Tax 15% VAT applies. Young Driver Applicable for international drivers 18 years of age and younger. A Young Driver Fee will be applied for each young driver and addiitonal young driver. International drivers must hold a valid passport. Cost: NAD 330.00 (including vat) per day.
