Dear friends and colleagues It is our privilege and a real honor to invite you to the International IEEE Conference on Microwaves, Communications, Antennas and Electronic Systems (IEEE COMCAS 2009), which will be held at the David Intercontinental Tel-Aviv Hotel, Israel, November 9-11,2009. COMCAS 2009 continues the tradition of providing a multidisciplinary forum for the exchange of ideas in the areas of microwaves, antennas, communications, solid state integrated circuits, sensing and electronic systems engineering. This year we will expand the program to include RF and microwave photonics, biomedical technologies, cognitive radios and networks, radar, radio frequency identification, electron devices and photonic means for IC inspection among other topics. The 2009 program will offer a very impressive list of speakers, including expert R&D engineers, top scientists and managers from the US, Europe, Far East and Israel. The program will include Keynote presentations of up-to-date and fascinating topics. New this year! The ED is joining the very popular and well established Microwaves (MTT), Antennas (AP), ComSoc, EMC, SSC and Radars (AES) program. The result will be an expanded program that should be of interest to a wider group of engineers and decision makers from the technology, communication, radar and electronic systems communities by presenting technology, circuits, system aspects and innovations in these fields. Prof. Joseph (Joe) Mitola from the Stevens Institute of Technology, NJ, USA has already confirmed his attendance as a keynote speaker and will lecture on Cognitive Radio Research and Commercialization Challenges and Opportunities. Present and past presidents of IEEE societies, directors of R&D institutions and international distinguished technology leaders are involved as members of the StC and TPC in COMCAS 2009. COMCAS2008 attracted over 700 delegates from many companies and R&D institutions. Last year s very successful event and the innovations made in the program will surely draw an exceeding number of participants to the COMCAS 2009 Conference. The program will be complemented with a professional exhibition, offering companies and agencies a unique opportunity to visit Israel and present CAD tools, test equipment, RF, MW and MMW components and modules for electronic systems applications to the microwave, antenna and wireless community. Coordination of advance material distribution is the sole responsibility of the exhibitors. Catalogue Registration: All exhibitors will be listed in the official catalogue of the conference free of charge which will be distributed to the conference participants. Participation in the exhibition is subject to approval by the Exhibition Committee. Notification will be sent within two weeks from the time of registration. APPENDIX 1 Exhibition Terms and Conditions: 1. Transportation of exhibits to and from the exhibition and arrangements in the booths/exhibition space are the sole responsibility of the exhibitor and on his account. The exhibitor will not obstruct aisles, approaches to the exhibition area and in no way cause inconvenience to other exhibitors. 2. All exhibits must be inside the booths/exhibition area an hour before the opening of the exhibition. Exhibits must not be removed during opening hours. 3. All arrangements by the exhibitor and installation of demonstration equipment must comply with safety regulations. 4. The organizers reserve the right to alter the layout of the exhibition, postpone or cancel it, or move the exhibition to a different location. 5. The organizers are obliged to ensure the orderly operation of the exhibition by all means at their disposal. 6. Exhibitors may not take their exhibits to booths/areas outside the booths/areas allocated to them, without prior permission of the organizers. 7. Exhibitors reserving non-constructed floor space must submit a plan of their booth/space to the organizers for approval no later than 30 days before opening. 8. The organizers, while providing general security, are not responsible for theft or damage to the exhibitors property. 9. Exhibitors must insure themselves and their property against theft, damage and third-party claims by visitors and staff. 10. The organizers are responsible for general maintenance, excluding maintenance of booths/exhibition areas. 11. Exhibitors will refrain from making noise or causing odors, which may inconvenience other exhibitors.
