At Y camp, we are here to make your children feel welcome and to help them quickly realize this is a place where they belong, where they can be themselves and be a part of something great. We provide a variety of opportunities for all ages including sports, cheer and gymnastics, arts and crafts, and our action packed field trips. We strive to offer the highest quality camps with the most diverse opportunities. BASIC INFORMATION All camps are provided time to swim in both indoor and outdoor pools, play at the Indian Trails Park, and participate in camp games and songs throughout the camp week. Camp shirts will be provided upon registration and should be worn on field trip days and/or performance days for their respective camps. WHAT TO BRING: A cold lunch, swim suit, towel, sunscreen and athletic shoes. Remember that camp is based outside for most campers and clothes/shoes may get messy. LUNCH: Each camper must bring a non-refrigerated lunch and a drink. We recommend bringing additional snacks for morning and afternoon. Please bring a refillable water bottle for water breaks throughout the day. SWIMMING: Campers swim 3-4 times a week. Campers will need to bring a swimsuit, towel, and sunscreen daily for swimming and other outdoor water activities. Campers must pass a swim test to be eligible to swim on the deep side of the pool. Camp staff will swim with the campers during swim time and assist the lifeguards as additional look-outs during the recreational swim. FIELD TRIPS: There are weekly field trips throughout the summer for Traditional Camps and Sports Camp (excluding any partial week should it arise due to school year closings). Field trip information will be available in the form of a Camp Newsletter which will be available for you on the first day of camp.
TRADITIONAL CAMP AGES: Entering K - 5 th Grade (Fall 2015) DEPOSIT: $5 non-refundable/non-transferable deposit per week FEE: $110/week members $130/week program participants Traditional camp is for campers looking for a fun summer experience. Campers will be separated into age groups on the first day of camp and will remain with their groups for the entire week. Based mainly outdoors, this camp includes weekly themes, field trips, swimming, arts and crafts, team building, leadership training, and singing many crazy camp songs. ADVENTURE CAMP AGES: Entering 6 th - 8 th Grade (Fall 2015) DEPOSIT: $5 non-refundable/non-transferable deposit per week FEE: $110/week members $130/week program participants This camp is for middle school aged youth looking for a time to relax and hang out with friends. Campers in this program participate in field trips, group games, community service projects, leadership skills and social activities. Parent(s) must sign youth in and out of this program. *Adventure Camp is not offered July 13 or 17 due to the Overnight Trip. (See below) ADVENTURE CAMP OVERNIGHT TRIP FEE: $110/trip members $130/trip program participants REGISTRATION FEE: $25 per family DATES: July 14 th - July 16 th (3 day, 2 night trip) Trip is spent at Chain O Lakes State Park and chaperoned by seasoned camp staff. We leave Tuesday morning and return Thursday afternoon by 4 pm. Campers will have the opportunity to go swimming, hiking, play games, roast marshmallows, and relax. Campers are expected to bring some meals and supplies. Further information will be e-mailed out the week prior to the overnighter. Male and female campers are not allowed to be alone together nor sleep in the same tent. With a focus on teamwork, sportsmanship, and building ball handling skills, these camps give campers a taste of being a team player without the season commitment. *Field Trip Included. CRAFT CAMP AGES: Entering K - 2 nd Grade (Fall 2015) DEPOSIT: $5 non-refundable, nontransferable deposit per week FEE: $125/week members $140/week program participants Craft Camp Dates June 8-12 June 22-26 July 6-10 July 20-24 Aug. 3-7 This camp is for the camper who likes to paint, draw, and create. This camp will also include swimming, songs, games, and daily take home crafts. ART CAMP AGES: Entering 3 rd - 6 th Grade (Fall 2015) DEPOSIT: $5 non-refundable, non-transferable deposit per week FEE: $125/week members $140/week program participants Art Camp Dates June 1-5 June 15-19 July 13-17 July 27-31 This camp is for the aspiring artist. Loaded with daily arts and crafts this camp will help bring out the Picasso in anyone. This camp will also include swimming, songs, games, and more.
SPORTS CAMP AGES: Entering 3 rd - 6 th Grade (Fall 2015) DEPOSIT: $5 non-refundable, non-transferable deposit per week FEE: $125/week members $140/week program participants This camp is for the energetic camper who loves to play sports. With a focus on conditioning, teamwork, sportsmanship, and skills training, these camps give campers a chance to play a variety of sports with other passionate sports fans. *Field Trip Included. Sports Camp Dates June 8-12 June 22-26 July 6-10 July 20-24 FRIENDSHIP Amidst the fun of camp games, songs and talent shows, campers meet new friends, learn about diversity, and strengthen existing friendships, while being led by our positive role models who promote the mission and core values.
CHEER & GYMNASTICS CAMP AGES: Entering 1 st - 6 th Grade (Fall 2015) DEPOSIT: $5 non-refundable/non-transferable deposit per week FEE: $117/week members $132/week program participants Cheer & Gymnastics Camp Dates June 1-5 June 8-12 June 15-19 June 22-26 June 29-July 3 July 6-10 July 13-17 July 20-24 July 27-31 Aug 3-7 Campers will learn basic cheerleading and gymnastic moves, stunts and skills. They will learn and create their own cheers, develop leadership, and teamwork skills. Campers will also prepare a program to present to parents and other camps at the end of the week. This is a performance based camp, therefore daily attendance is necessary. Other activities may include swimming, arts, and crafts. (Attention: Our gymnastics equipment is mainly set up for female participants.)
REGISTRATION PROCESS: The following is due at registration: $25 registration fee per family $5 deposit/week (non-refundable, non-transferable) Registration Form Health & Immunization Form Summer Camp Contract 2015 (completed and signed) Credit Card & Checking Account Draft Agreement (optional, recommended, this paperwork must be on file in order to pay this way) You should receive: Parent handbook Camp Shirt (to be worn on field trip days for traditional and sports camps & performance days for cheer/gymnastics) Note: All childcare balances must be paid current in order to register your child(ren) for camp Incomplete paperwork will not be held by the YMCA staff A 10% sibling discount is available for families with multiple children Payment box is located in the school age childcare room If paying by check or cash, full payment must be made by the Wednesday prior to the week of attendance in camp Automatic drafts will be taken out the Friday the week of attendance Failure to pay balances on time may result in the loss of the spot and of the $5.00 deposit for that week If you do not notify us in writing by the Monday prior to the week of attendance to cancel a week of camp, you will be responsible for paying half of that week s payment
