The holidays are a great time to spend time with family and friends. Don t forget our office will be closed from December 23 rd until January 1 st. We will reopen on January 2 nd, 2018. During November, the last Make It, Take It, Try It of the year took place. Stay tuned in the spring for more sessions. The Licking River Area FCS Agents met to work on a few things for the upcoming year. Tara and I went to the intermediate school and taught the entire fourth grade how to make breads. I helped with the scholarship bazaar. Mason County hosted the Licking River Area Homemaker Council meeting. Cooking Through the Calendar was held and we prepared and sampled Apple Nachos. In partnership with the Mason County Public Library, we held a program for children called Cooking the Books. I ended the month attending the state meeting for the Kentucky Extension Association of Family and Consumer Sciences. Recipe Corner Tomatoes are in season from July through October in Kentucky. They are rich in nutrients like fiber and vitamins A and C. Store at room temperature and use within 3 days. Keep out of direct sunlight. Remember to buy Kentucky Proud products at your local grocery store or farmers market!
