Agencies for Nutrition Action (ANA) soon to be rebranded as Activity and Nutrition Aotearoa, connects people and organisations engaged in the cause of improving the nation s nutrition and physical activity and we are having a get together in the coolest little capital in the world. When and where? We invite you to support the 7 th Activity & Nutrition Aotearoa Conference to be held in Wellington at Te Papa on 30-31 May 2017. What will be discussed? This key biennial event brings together the public health nutrition and physical activity sector to reflect on and advance our vision of New Zealanders achieving health and well-being through physical activity and nutrition in the national, regional and global context. ANA conference 2017 is a unique opportunity to: showcase what your organisation has to offer network with the sector, and learn about new research, projects and local stories. When we WORK TOGETHER we have the power to INSPIRE CHANGE; a change that can transform where we live, work, learn and grow into environments that support healthy eating and physical activity. Your participation at the ANA Conference 2017 is a unique opportunity to support the sector including health promoters, researchers, educators, health professionals, exercise and recreation practitioners, and policy makers, while gaining up to date nutrition and physical activity knowledge, and creating new networks with prospective clients and colleagues. AA ANA Activity and Nutrition Aotearoa Conference 2017 Who will be there? The ANA conference 2015 was widely acclaimed by conference delegates, attracting a sell-out crowd of 240 delegates, 95% of whom indicated that they would be interested to attend the next ANA conference. The conference attracted delegates from across New Zealand with 13 of New Zealand s 16 regions represented. Delegates from a wide range of occupations, all working to improve nutrition and physical activity will be there: public health dietitians exercise and health professionals educators policy makers health promoters Green Prescription providers community health and recreation advisors public health researchers The ANA conference 2015 delegates came from the following types of organisations: Non-governmental organisation/charitable trust 18% District health board 15% Regional sports trust 14% Education sector (early childhood through to tertiary) 13% Māori or Pacific provider 11% Government (including crown entities) 8% Other 19% ANA conference 2015 received over 90 papers in response to the call for abstracts. The conference featured 40 concurrent oral presentations, 12 concurrent workshops, six plenary presentations, seven poster presentations, three lunchtime meetings, and one plenary debate.
