Area Overview AREA OVERVIEW - SAN BERNARDINO CA San Bernardino is a city located in and the county seat of San Bernardino County, California, United States. One of the major cities of the Inland Empire region, it is the 18th largest city in California, and the 99th largest city in the United States, with a population of 207,832 as of 2009.The city spans 81 square miles (210 km 2 ). Though much of the housing stock is, on average, older than that of the surrounding region, new homes continue to be built in different parts of the city, with the bulk rising in the Verdemont area on the north side.
