Rising Stars Camp June 24-27 For Junior High and High School Girls (Ages 12-17). Designed for the intermediate and beginner level player and will offer instruction and training in the skills and techniques for stick work, shooting, defense, offense and basic concepts of the game. Campers are divided by age and skill level, which will provide the appropriate learning environment. Tuition - $395.00 (Commuter tuition $295.00) This camp is a 4 day camp (9 sessions) ideal for the intermediate player. The fees include, tuition, 3 nights of housing, all meals, and a camp t-shirt. REGISTRATION will be on SUNDAY, JUNE 24, from 12:00-2:00pm. Check-out will be on WEDNESDAY, JUNE 27 at 12:00 noon. Carolina Elite Camp June 30-July 2 For High School Girls (Ages 16-18). Designed for the experienced player, an intensive 3 day camp will focus on higher level skills and strategies for shooting, offensive motion, defensive techniques and team play. A variety of drills, games and competition will be used to put these techniques into practice. We recommend high school players with at least 2 years of varsity experience. Campers are divided by age and skill levels, to provide the appropriate learning environment. Tuition - $395.00 (Commuter tuition $325.00) This is a weekend camp of intense lacrosse (8 sessions) that is ideal for the elite player preparing for the college game. Fee includes 2 nights of housing, all meals, camp t-shirt, camper handbook, college information night and an all-star game vs counselors. REGISTRA- TION will be on Saturday, JUNE 30, from 10 am-12:00. Check-out will be Monday, July 2, at 4:00 pm Elite Clinic in Syracuse July 31-August 2 For High School Girls(Ages 15-18), a 3 day clinic at Liverpool HS in Syracuse, NY. Carolina staff and players will be in Central, NY for 3 days of intense lacrosse. Sessions are geared for the advanced and intermediate player with good basic skills interested in learning higher level strategies and techniques for shooting, attacking plays, defensive techniques and midfield strategy. Campers are divided by age and skill level. Tuition - $175.00 Day camp only (6 sessions) is ideal for the higher level player preparing for the college game. Run and Shoot Elite Camp June 23-26 For High School Girls (Ages 15-18) A 4 day, 3 night camp in Bristol, RI at Roger Williams University designed for the advanced and intermediate player. Head coaches from Division I programs rotate in throughout the week. Each player will have the opportunity to work with a variety of college coaches during camp. Learn from different styles of coaching and strategies. A great opportunity for a player that wants advanced instruction and the chance to work with a lot of different college coaches. Applications are available on line for the Run and Shoot Camp only. Goalkeeping Instruction (Offered at every camp) Instructors will be current college goalie coaches and college goalkeepers. Each goalie will get individual attention with a college coach. Elite/Advanced Goalies: Sharpen technique with attention to detail in footwork, angles quickness and stick work. Communication with defense, play outside the crease, field strategies and tactics emphasized. Beginner/Intermediate Goalies: Basic goalie skills will be broken down. Emphasis on consistent execution of proper technique in footwork, angles and stickwork. IMPORTANT FACTS REGISTRATION Campers are required to register by mailing the attached application form and signed waiver statements with FULL PAYMENT made payable to: Carolina Lacrosse Camps, Inc. $100 of total payment is NON-REFUNDABLE after June 10, 2001. Enrollment is limited, first come basis until camps are full. SIGN UP SOON! TRAVEL Campers fly into Raleigh/Durham Airport, and Trailways offers a bus service to Chapel Hill. All Domestic Airlines travel to RDU International Airport (American, Delta, US Air, United, Midway, TWA, Continental, Southwest) Ground Shuttle Transportation to and from RDU and the camp (20 minutes away) can also be provided for $30.00 round trip. Look for the travel form in your confirmation packet. Two weeks notice is required. MEDICAL CARE All campers must have their own accident and health insurance. A certified NATA athletic trainer will attend to minor injuries and illnesses is available for all camp sessions, one of whom resides in the dormitory during camp. LODGING Campers will room in Avery and Teague Dorms on the beautiful campus at Carolina. Most of the rooms are air-conditioned. All meals are served cafateria style, all you can eat. We will do what we can to honor roommate requests, but they are not guaranteed. There are 2 campers maximum per room. FACILITIES We will be use our turf facility and the grass fields in the center of campus. The Women s Lacrosse and Field Hockey locker rooms and stadium were completed in the spring of 99. The Carolina Lacrosse Camps allow the athlete to experience the university setting in beautiful Chapel Hill. During camp, there will be a campus and facilities tour offered to any camper who is interested. CAMP DIRECTOR Jenny Slingluff Levy Head Women s Lacrosse Caoch at the University of North Carolina, started the program in 1995. In five years has compiled a record of 60-24, gone to the NCAA tournament 4 straight years and made 2 Final Four appearances. Recognized as the 1997 ACC Coach of the Year and the 1998 NCAA South Region Coach of the Year, Slingluff Levy s Tar Heels have quickly risen to be one of the most competitive teams in Division I. ASSISTANT DIRECTORS Jen Larsen Jen joined the Tar Heel staff in 2000. A graduate from the University of Virginia where she excelled in both lacrosse and field hockey. Jen serves as the first assistant in charge of the defensive unit and acts as the primary recruiting coordinator for the Tar Heels. Kathleen O Shea Kathleen joined the Tar Heel staff in 1999. A graduate from Loyola College, Kathleen was recognized as a 1999 All- American and the CAA Defensive Player of the Year. Kathleen works with the Tar Heel goalkeepers and the offensive unit. STAFF COACHES Since the beginning of our camps, the single most important factor has been superb coaching. In addition to the Tar Heel coaching staff and players, the camp staff will consist of collegiate players, outstanding NCAA collegiate coaches, and US Players. The camper to counselor ratio will be 6 to 1, allowing each camper to receive individual attention as well as small group instruction. Many of the Carolina Lacrosse Camp staff coaches return every summer because they enjoy the way in which Carolina Camps are run and coaching the quality players who attend camp.
