Canal of Corinth Mycenae Epidaurus Nafplio (All day) - Travel south west to the Corinth Canal which connects the Aegean Sea with the Ionian Sea then on to the archaeological site of Mycenae where 19 th Century excavations uncovered the Lion Gate and Royal Tombs. Continue to Epidaurus site of the famous open-air theatre and finishing in Nafplio the first capital of modern Greece. Cape Sounion and coastal Athens - A drive along the coast to Cape Sounion, with splendid views of the Gulf and offshore islands, finishing at The Temple of Poseidon. Delphi - A drive through the fertile plain of Beotia, crossing Thebes, and arriving at Delphi the centre of the Ancient World. On the slopes of Mount Parnassus lie the ruins of the Sanctuary of Apollo Pythios the Museum containing masterpieces of Ancient Greek sculpture. Lunch in Delphi.
