brom THE PRESIDENT FROM THE PRESIDENT Continued Now that we are past the holidays and thoughts of Spring are in the air I want each of us to start thinking about this year and how we can Improve not only the Historical Society, but the Museum as well. There are many projects that can be undertaken this year. First of all I would like to see another aggressive membership campaign mounted. To survive we need not only the guidance of those that have been here, but new members to bring ideas and energy to help us preserve the wonderful buildings and artifacts that we have been tasked to protect and preserve. If you see something that you think we need to change please contact myself or a board member to Bring up a board meeting. We are interested not only in problems to solve but problems with possible solutions that you might be able to contribute to. I am committed to transforming the flagpole area that is dedicated to George Couch into one that we all can be proud of. I would like someone to take on this project in the Spring. We will support it financially, we just need someone to head it up. The second part of the renovation has been finished. The Car Wash roof has been replaced with a truss and metal roof and looks great! The front roof needs to be power washed and painted as do the sides of the back part of the building. Now we need to put together a cleaning crew to clean out that building and make it ready for tours. The Workman Barn also needs a good cleaning and the second floor needs to be cleaned and organized. I need someone to step forward and volunteer to put together a group and take on one or all of these tasks. Lastly, I want to reiterate our need to raise funds for the roofing project. I thank those who have already contributed and if you haven't contributed yet please consider a donation to help defray the cost of the renovation. Jim BRICK HOTEL RENOVATION PREVIEW «The interior demolition of the Brick Hotel on The Circle has uncovered some fascinating construction details associated with the 1836 National Historic Registry Property.
