Presentation This tour operates only in northern Vietnam, from Red River Delta to the mountains of Ha Giang province It s a discovery tour of natural sites and scenery with the opportunity to meet and interact with the local ethnic minorities with scenic walks, delicious local meals and even the possibility of over night stays! The tour is totally off the tourist track. The rhythm of this itinerary is rather intense, with 4 hours on average to reach each destination. The rest of the time is dedicated to the discovery and enjoyment of the varied and beautiful regions. Program details Day1 Arrival in Hanoi. Arrival in Hanoi where you will be met by your guide at the airport and taken to your hotel for a welcome drink and a light snack. Followed by a stroll through the old quarter and dinner. - Accommodation : Hotel - Meals : L, D Day 2. City Tour. The whole day is dedicated to discovering Hanoi. Many options are offered: o Classical Tour This tour starts with the famous Hoan Kiem Lake otherwise known as the lake of the Restored Sword, one of the city s most important historical sites and the heart of Hanoi. After this we head off to the temple of literature for a hint of Hanoi s ancient scholars. Lunch followed by a visit to the Museum of Ethnology before a discovery tour of the old quarter. o City tour, ACA Voyage way Hanoi as you would never imagine! Off the tourist track. The main theme of this tour is Hanoi Today. We ll walk, pedal or ride a motor bike and discover some of Hanoi s hidden charms. Evening the famous water puppet show. - Accommodation : Hotel - Meals : B, L Day 3. Hanoi / Day excursion. Evening, night train to Lao Cai. Visit of Hanoi surroundings, the countryside of the Red River delta and the cradle of Vietnamese civilisation. We will visit some of the many traditional handicraft villages such as Dong Ho (popular prints), Dong Ky and Phu Khe (wooden pieces of furniture incrusted with nacre) or Phu Lang (pottery). We come back to Hanoi in the afternoon, dinner and transfer to the railway station for the night train to Lao Cai - Accommodation : Train - Meals : B, L, D Day 4. Lao Cai - Xin Man. We reach Lao cai very early in the morning (6 o clock). We have a local breakfast (noodle soup) then we go to Bac Ha (90 km and 3 hours on the road). After lunch we head to Xin Man. This road is still under construction and so some parts might be a bit difficult but well worth the effort as the scenery is superb. We re just short of the Chinese border! - Accommodation : Hotel - Meals : B, L, D Day 5. Xin Man - Hoang Su Phi. Short excursion in order to fully appreciate the marvellous scenery along this beautiful mountain road. Early afternoon finds us at Pan Hou Village were we can take a short stroll through the stunning countryside. - Accommodation : Pan Hou Resort - Meals : B, L, D Day 6. Hoang Su Phi / Hiking day. This entire day is dedicated to hiking through this beautiful region, nothing too difficult. Our itinerary is completely adaptable to individual levels of fitness. - Accommodation : Pan Hou Resort - Meals : B, L, D Day 7. Hoang Su Phi - Luc Yen A quiet morning before descending the mountains towards the planes. We ll follow some narrow trails in the countryside amongst which Tay villages are nestled. During the day we will have many opportunities to meet and become acquainted with the local minority people. Lunch in a typical stilts house, hosted by our Tay Friends. Day 8. Luc Yen - Vu Linh In the morning we walk around to discover Dao s villages. We pass by the northern shore of the lake Thac Ba up to the traditional Dao Quan Trang minority (literally white trousers Dao) village where we will spend the night. Meals provided by our hosts in their own homes where we have been invited to stay overnight. - Accommodation : Home stays - Meals : B, L, D Day 9. Vu Linh - Hanoi Return to Hanoi along a riverside road. Lunch on the way. Arriving mid afternoon. - Accommodation : Hotel - Meals : B, L, D Day 10. Hanoi Hai Phong - Cat Ba, Cruise * Cruising amongst the impressive limestone labyrinth of Halong bay. It s a fairy tale choreography of close to 2000 islands and rocks rising up through the clear emerald green water. The junk is a 13 meters boat. The inside is rather simple, camping car style, but hygienic conditions are very good and freedom as long as the itinerary is concerned is totally granted. Excellent food. Dinner and night on the boat. - Accommodation : Junk - Meals : B, L, D Day 11. Cat Ba - Hai Phong - Hanoi The cruise continues with a few stops in order to explore caves, and swim. A generous buffet breakfast. Lunch on board. Disembarking around 14.00 in Cat Ba island. Transfer to the jetty and ferry to Hai Phong (45 minutes trip). Arrival in Hanoi at around 18.00 - Accommodation : Hotel - Meals : B, L Day 12. Hanoi. Departure. Programme will be adjusted according to your flight schedule.
