TOUR HIGHLIGHT Clarendon House Tour Itinerary Day 1, Thursday, 11 Oct Today depart Brisbane or Sydney flying to Launceston. On arrival in Launceston you will be transferred by private coach to Devonport where you will spend the next 4 nights. Check-in to your accommodation and take the afternoon to rest ahead of this evening s group Welcome Dinner. Stay: Quality Hotel Gateway Devonport Day 2, Friday, 12 Oct Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before a full day touring the beautiful port city of Burnie. Our first stop will be Emu Valley Rhododendron Garden. This 11 hectare garden is widely known internationally and its unique design makes it one of Australia's major rhododendron gardens. We then continue on to a cheese tasting at Makers Workshop. The Cheese Shop offers exquisite cheeses for tastings and purchase, manufactured at Burnie's state of the art specialty facility operated by Lion. This afternoon we will see the top orchids at the annual orchid show before we drive back to Devonport. This evening enjoy dinner at the hotel in preparation for tomorrow s early morning start. Stay: Quality Hotel Gateway Devonport Day 3, Saturday, 13 Oct An early start for our journey to Wynyard for the annual Bloomin Tulips Festival. Kick the festival off with the Bush Poet s Breakfast. The rest of the morning is at leisure to explore the Wynyard Foreshore Market, showcasing local produce and crafts, including jams, cakes, preserves, secondhand goods, plants, bric-abrac, and much more. This afternoon perhaps you might like to take part or simply spectate the annual Bloomin Tulips colour run/walk. The 5km run sees competitors doused from head to toe in different colours every 500m. A true celebration of all things colour! For those not wanting to view the race there is an alternative tour on offer to see Ransley Veteran Ford Collection. This collection is a must-see for the nostalgic car enthusiast. Wynyard local and Fordenthusiast, Francis Ransley, offers his world class collection of locally restored veteran Fords to over 38,000 visitors a year. The permanent exhibition of over 14 motor vehicles includes the equal oldest Ford in the world, the 1903 Model A. Later this afternoon we will travel back to Devonport where dinner will be served at the hotel this evening. Stay: Quality Hotel Devonport Day 4, Sunday, 14 Oct Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before we board the coach for our transfer to Don River Railway Station, one of Australia's finest heritage passenger carrying railways. After our short train journey we will get back on the coach for our transfer to Table Cape Tulip Farm. Table Cape is an extinct volcanic vent dominating the coastline close to the town of Wynyard. Its 180m cliffs drop away into Bass Strait and Table Cape Tulip Farm is perched on the top. During late September through to mid-october the farm explodes with colour as travellers come from far and wide to see this spectacle and delight at walking amongst the acres of tulips. After wandering through the fields we will head back to Devonport for an evening of leisure. Stay: Quality Hotel Devonport Day 5, Monday, 15 Oct This morning we bid farewell to Devonport and head east to Launceston where we will spend the next 2 nights. We will stop at Tamar Valley to board the Tamar Odyssey for a luncheon cruise. Cruise 40 kilometers down Australia s longest navigable estuary and experience the natural beauty and magic of Launceston s famous Tamar Valley and the Cataract Gorge. During the cruise, taste local wine and beer, enjoy freshly brewed tea and coffee, morning tea, a light lunch, delicious Tasmanian cheese platter and fresh fruit selection as you relax and enjoy the ambience of the Valley and the notable Batman Bridge. This afternoon we check into our hotel and enjoy the evening at leisure. Stay: Best Western Launceston Day 6, Tuesday, 16 Oct This morning we travel to the Swissstyle village of Grindelwald by private coach. Stay: Best Western Launceston Day 7, Wednesday, 17 Oct This morning after breakfast we will hit the road for our next stop, Hobart. We will travel along the Heritage Highway tracing much of the original route between Launceston and Hobart, built by convict road gangs in the early 1800s. Drive through rolling farmlands, explore charming Georgian villages, and savour the rich and colourful history of the place and its people. Along the way we will stop at Josef Chromy Winery for a wine tasting, and Clarendon Homestead, built in 1838, for a guided tour of one of Australia's grandest houses and Devonshire Tea. The heritage-walled gardens and colonial outbuildings, all convict built, are a part of this not to-be-missed experience. Continue on to Campbell Town, a popular stopping point for travellers between Launceston and Hobart, and the historic heart of Tasmania, with more than 100 houses over 100 years old. We will arrive in Hobart late this afternoon where we will check-in to our hotel and enjoy a group dinner at the hotel. Stay: Travelodge Hobart Day 8, Thursday, 18 Oct Today we visit Port Arthur Penal Settlement and learn how hundreds of convicts lived, worked and died under threats of the lash. We will take a short cruise across Carnarvon Harbour and around the Isle of the Dead. This afternoon on our way back to Hobart we will travel via Eaglehawk Neck to see Tasman Arch, Devil s Kitchen and the Tessellated Pavement. This evening we will enjoy a group dinner at the iconic Drunken Admiral. Stay: Travelodge Hobart Day 9, Friday, 19 Oct Today enjoy the day at leisure to explore this wonderful city. Perhaps you would like to take the ferry over to MONA to see its famous art collection or a day trip to beautiful Bruny Island. Travel Team Terms of Trade and Schedule of Fees PRICES Schedules and availability, fare conditions and prices can change at any time. Price changes may occur for reason or matters outside our control which increase the cost of the products or service. Such factors include adverse currency fluctuations, fuel surcharges, taxes and airfare increases. DEPOSITS Travel Team requires a booking deposit which is charged per person and deducted from your final balance. The deposit is non-refundable if you should cancel. i. 1st deposit for this tour is $600 per person and is due within 7 days of booking. ii. Final payment is due 75 days prior to departure. PAYMENTS All prices are based on payment by cash, direct deposit or cheque. A credit card surcharge of 1.41% for Visa, 0.91% for Visa Debit, 1.27% for Mastercard, 0.87% for Mastercard Debit and 3% for American Express Card applies if you elect to use them for payment. If you opt to make a direct deposit into our nominated bank account it may take at least 24 hours to be processed into our account. CANCELLATIONS, REFUNDS & AMENDMENTS Any cancellations of the Tour will result in the following cancellation fees: - 75 days or more prior to departure, loss of deposit plus the cost of the airline ticket if issued. - Less than 75 days prior to departure, 100% of the tour package price. Cancellation must be made in writing for your reservation to be cancelled. HEALTH & FITNESS/ACTIVITY LEVEL You must ensure that you are aware of any health requirements for your travel and that you are able to participate in the activities included in your itinerary. If you are unsure about your fitness to travel, please check with your GP or specialist clinic. Payment of deposit to Travel Team acts as a warranty that the traveller is reasonably healthy and/or fit to participate in the tour. Travel Team reserves the right to remove a traveller from a tour at the traveller's own expense, if their health/ fitness interferes with the tour or other travellers tour experience in any way. We do not, nor are we required to, provide carers or assistants for those with reduced mobility or other health needs. In particular, tour guides, coach drivers, and your fellow passengers will not act as assistants or carers in these circumstances. TRAVEL INSURANCE Travel Insurance is highly recommended for all travellers. Travel Team can assist with your travel insurance needs. Please ensure you take note of the special inclusions and exclusions as they may relate to your particular circumstances. Pre-existing Medical conditions and cover for these are approved or rejected by the Insurer. If you have taken out another Travel Insurance Policy or believe you have adequate cover from a credit card policy we will require a photocopy and details of the insurance cover that you hold. Please note that if you have insurance from another source and subsequently require our assistance in processing an insurance claim, this will incur a fee of at least $220. TRAVEL DOCUMENTATION Travel documents include (without limitation) airline tickets, hotel vouchers, tour vouchers or any other documentation used to confirm an arrangement with a service provider. Travel documents may be subject to certain conditions and/or restrictions including being non-refundable, non-changeable and subject to cancellation and/or amendment fees. These documents cannot be transferred to another person to use. All airline tickets must be issued in the name of the passport/photo id holder. An incorrect name on a booking may result in an inability to use that booking and it may be cancelled. Any errors in names, dates and timings on your documentation will be your responsibility if not advised at time of booking. As a general rule, your travel documents are issued by the service providers two weeks prior to departure. For any amendments after final payment a fee of $55 per document plus supplier fees will be charged. THIRD PARTY SUPPLIERS Our tour itinerary is a guide only and although we will make every reasonable effort to adhere to the programme, we reserve the right to make any alterations as necessary. Alterations may come about due to weather conditions, strikes, public holidays, local festivals, renovations and/or upgrades or other reasons. Any additional expense incurred by the passenger is not our responsibility. Your travel arrangements are subject to the booking conditions of each travel provider you are using. Travel Team is responsible for advising upon travel arrangements and making the bookings. Travel Team is not responsible for cancellations of tours, loss or damage directly or indirectly caused by the airline or suppliers and other transport delays or reschedules, or insolvency, loss or damage to person, property delays, accidents, acts of war and force majeure impacting upon your travel arrangements. Travel Team acts only as an agent. Airfares included in your package holiday are provided in economy class. Travel Team cannot be responsible for seating allocation.
